Kenochi:
Twenty years ago,a certain Governor had a very big dream,to create an Industrial Hub that would create jobs and wealth for the citizens of his state. He went far and wide and got partners who believed in his dream. The project required long term planning and he had only a short time to rule
He took on the project regardless and today the dream is a Reality

A few years later,an Industrialist was stranded,he was looking to site his monumental Industrial complex and the states he initially wanted to site the project disappointed him, step in the Ex Governor and he convinced him to site his project in the Industrial Hub.....
This would require a lot of money as a large expanse of Land would be filled and reclaimed, was it worth it,but like a determined bull the project began
Today as they say,the rest is History

In 2024,this Ex Governor is now President and the Industrialist has finally started the project.
The President has another big and ambitious dream, he wants to build a very long and costly road. The project is a 700km Coastal Road that will open up the coastal areas to development and excite tourist to visit, like 20 years before he is facing a lot of opposition but like the determined bull that he is,the project has began

Twenty years from now, when the project is finished,Nigerians will look back and ask why people opposed the project

Tinubu will be revered in the history of Nigeria for generations to come.

I don't really understand something here maybe someone needs to educate me. Why is Dangote import Crude from US while we have crude in Nigeria sometimes don't have buyers to buy them abroad? Is it that fg rufuse selling to him in large quantities or our crude not fit for his refinery? It make no sense for Dangote to import Crude from US while we can sell to him at a reduced price in order to sell to Nigeria in cheap rate

It meant cheap crude oil from the US. Nigeria cannot meet Dangote crude oil demand for now or else it won't be able to supply other merchants who have booked ahead. So, Dangote refinery gets some quantity from Nigeria and others from abroad.
Cantonese:
Hm.

“ The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery is taking advantage of cheaper oil imports from the United States for as much as a third of its feedstock as it starts up production”.

Cheaper oil imports from the United States? Abi I no see or read well?

Do a quick Google search to see how much Crude Saudi Arabia imports

This same. USA is a net exporter of crude

It imports and exports crude

Which is a completely different business from refining

Any country can go into refining
Totally different issue

Nigeria has the highest quality crude oil in terms of yield and low sulfur
Dangote designed his refinery for. ALL TYPES of crude and does not have to use Bonny light

It is good for the country if it can get a higher price for Bonny light and import cheaper WTI TEXAS
Many of you talk for the sake of talking on issues you are clueless about

TODAY THE PRICE DIFFERENCE IS NINE dollars a barrel calculate that by our daily production in a YEAR
You've said it all you know! Read through the thread like other threads and you'll see an over abundance of these ignoramuses on this platform! There are different types of crude oil from which so many things are refined
Texas today is 84..48
Bonny light is 93.54. To late

He is a business man
He must do the numbers

It makes sense to export and import based on your refining capabilities
9 dollars X1.5 million X365 is a huge difference for the country

It’s not confusing, it’s because the previous government sold out oil in advance and we are still paying for that nonsense deal till this minute. If we can increase production to around 2.3mpd like we use to do, then we will meet up with domestic requests and as well supply oil to the people we owe. We just have to be optimistic and positive about our future as a country.

That is not the only explanation
Nigerian crude is the highest quality and higest priced
TODAY We are taking 9 dollars difference
If that difference persists there is no need to ever use Nigerian oil
It makes sense to export our premium crude and import cheaper crude

Even Saudi Arabia imports crude from Nigeria despite being a leading exporter
It is more complex than what you are saying

The dollars used to build the refinery isn't enough...we are still using the dollars to import crude..the same crude oil thieves are exporting..what is really our problem. How then do u expect Nigerian to buy fuel at 300naira per litre.

Nothing is complex. I gave her an explanation on why we import crude oil for now.
Nigeria’s crude being expensive or high in quality isn’t a problem for dangote. If you watch the interview on refineries and crude supply, you will understand that quality and price isn’t dangote’s problem but the time of crude supply to his refinery is not helping matters. Quality and price isn’t the problem, don’t get it wrong. Are you producing enough to meet the demands on ground?. Nigeria struggled to give dangote the first batch of oil (1m barrels). It took them months because, we were having various issues.
