Has Andres Villas Boas Failed Already? by vowiski(m): 9:58pm On Nov 20, 2011
Chelsea continues to struggle under the management of Andres Villas Boas who has refused to justify his massive buyout from Porto. Roman Abramovich had sacked Carlo Anceloti for failing to fire up his team despite taking the lead before the mid-transfer window. Spending 50 Million pounds on Torres who scored twice against Chelsea at Anfield and another 35 Million Pounds on David Luiz was supposed to kick start another era of Chelsea dominance but things went sour and everything fell apart for carlo.

The search for a new coach, a new blood, a new philosophy and new thinking was on, Andres Villa Boas was the perfect man for the job, with his unbeaten record in Porto his managerial skills were simply top notched. Andres Villas Boas requested the services of West Brom coach and it was automatically granted. The stake was high and electricity filled the airways, for the fans Chelsea was heading back to the glory days but before fans could think of greater things, the first test had arrived. The battle between Manchester United and Chelsea, Andreas Villas Boas knew he had to prove a point but what can a young and near inexperienced coach get from one of the world’s top rated managers? Sir Alex Ferguson slammed Chelsea and the scoreline was 3-1. It was a Major blow but perhaps, AVB needed more time and patience.

After failing to manage any home clean sheets this season Pete Cech would have been frustrated and this frustration would only have increased when the Gunners visited the blues in Stamford Bridge. Chelsea was favorite to win reason being Arsenal’s lack of form and confidence. Chelsea scored first and AVB could not withstand the inner joy with his animated gestures. The time was ticking and the game had dramatically changed course, with John Terry being terrified at the defence it wasn’t too long before Robin Van Persie laid the issue to rest with an incredible hat trick. This was a massive disappointment. Van Persie Inspired Arsenal had sunk the blues and the final score was 5-3, the fact that Chelsea opened the score line and couldn’t find a bearing should raise some questions about the technicality of Andreas Villas Boas.

Having lost to two of the big boys in the Premier League, Andres Villas Boas would have been looking to win against Liverpool also in Stamford Bridge. Should he have won, questions about his managerial skills would have seen positives but two goals from Glen Johnson and Maxi Rodríguez to make the final score line 1-2 must have sent the wrong signals to Russian Billionaire Roman Abramovich who now have a option of offering a contract to Guss hinddink.

Andres Villas Boas has yet to prove he can be the man to take Chelsea to previously unseen height, with 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City, many would begin to question themselves and wonder if they have made a mistake with their choice, for if Chelsea fails to beat Manchester City in the first leg of the league games then perhaps Andreas villas boas could be regarded not as the man for the job
