We keep blaming the West for all our shortcomings/ failures while excusing ourselves from the self inflicted suffering we’ve caused ourselves. Agreed there are systemic barriers put in place by the west through dubious institutions such as World Bank, IMF, that are designed to prevent serious economic growths in black African countries. But that’s just one layer of our never-ending problems. The thickest layer of our problem is corruption. Speaking of Congo,I’m sure you know what Mobutu Sese Seko did with the wealth of Zaire (now DP Congo). Just recently, Yahaya Bello was accused of looting 80 billion Naira from the treasury of Kogi State. Should the west be blamed for such atrocious stealing?
