ERROR 1
Another explicit copyist error in the Old Testament can be found in the Book of 2 Kings 8:26 and 2 Chronicles 22:2 regarding the age of Ahaziah, King of Judah.]

1- **2 Kings 8:26**: It states that Ahaziah became king at the age of 22.
2- **2 Chronicles 22:2**: It mentions that Ahaziah was 42 years old when he became king.

This discrepancy in ages between the two books is considered a copyist error and has led to scholarly discussions about the accuracy of the historical accounts presented in these texts.

ERROR 2
Another explicit copyist error in the Old Testament can be found in the Book of 2 Chronicles 36:9 and 2 Kings 24:8 regarding the age of Jehoiachin when he became king.

1- **2 Chronicles 36:9**: It states that Jehoiachin was 8 years old when he became king.
2- **2 Kings 24:8**: It mentions that Jehoiachin was 18 years old when he became king.

This inconsistency in the age of Jehoiachin at the time he assumed the throne is another example of a copyist error that can be found in the Old Testament texts.

ERROR 3
Another explicit copyist error in the Old Testament can be found in the Book of 2 Samuel 10:18 and 1 Chronicles 19:18 regarding a battle between the Israelites and the Arameans.

1- **2 Samuel 10:18**: It states that David's army killed 700 charioteers and 40,000 foot soldiers of the Arameans.
2- **1 Chronicles 19:18**: It mentions that David's army killed 7,000 charioteers and 40,000 foot soldiers of the Arameans.

This discrepancy in the number of charioteers killed in the battle is considered a copyist error and has led to debates among scholars about the accuracy of the historical accounts presented in these passages.

ERROR 4
A significant copyist error in the Old Testament can be found in the story of the "Wife of Lot" in the Book of Genesis 19:30-38. This story involves Lot and his two daughters after fleeing the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

In **Genesis 19:30-38**, it describes how Lot's daughters get their father drunk on two consecutive nights and have sexual relations with him in order to conceive children. The text states that the daughters believed there were no other men left on earth to provide offspring.

This story is considered by many scholars to be a copyist error or a later addition to the text due to its controversial and problematic nature. It is seen as inconsistent with the moral teachings and values presented elsewhere in the Bible.

ERROR 5
One of the most well-known and debated copyist errors in the Bible is the Johannine Comma, also known as the Comma Johanneum. This disputed passage is found in 1 John 5:7-8 in some versions of the Bible. The passage reads:

1 John 5:7-8 (KJV): "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

However, many scholars and biblical experts believe that this passage was a later addition to the text and is not found in the earliest manuscripts of the New Testament. Most modern translations of the Bible omit the Johannine Comma or include it with a footnote indicating its disputed nature. This error has been a point of contention and discussion among theologians and textual critics for centuries.

In addition to the Johannine Comma above, there are a few other notable copyist errors or disputed passages in the New Testament:

ERROR 6
Mark 16:9-20: The ending of the Gospel of Mark, from verse 9 to 20, is a subject of debate among scholars. Some of the earliest manuscripts of Mark end at verse 8, leading to questions about the authenticity of the remaining verses.

ERROR 7
John 7:53-8:11: The story of the woman caught in adultery, known as the Pericope Adulterae, is not found in the earliest manuscripts of the Gospel of John. It is believed to have been a later addition to the text.

ERROR 8
Luke 22:43-44: The account of Jesus sweating blood in the Garden of Gethsemane is found in some manuscripts of Luke but is missing in others. This passage is considered by some scholars to be a later insertion.

These passages are examples of copyist errors, additions, or disputed sections in the New Testament that have been the subject of scholarly discussion and textual analysis.
