Samuel Eto'o Handed 15-match Ban For Cameroon Strike

Samuel Eto'o has been handed a 15-match ban by Cameroon for leading a players strike.

Eto'o, the skipper of the Indomitable Lions, and vice-captain Eyong Enoh were found guilty of encouraging team-mates not to travel to Algeria for a friendly in November.

"Samuel Eto'o, in his role as captain, incited his team-mates to refuse to travel to Algeria," the Cameroon football federation stated on its official website.

After already missing out on next year's African Nations Cup, the prolonged absence of the Anzhi Makhachkala striker will come as a huge blow to Cameroon's hopes of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup, with their first qualifier set to take place next June against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

It is understood the Cameroon players were angered after the federation refused payment for their participation in a four-nation tournament in Morocco earlier in the year. Tottenham's Benoit Assou-Ekotto has since been fined one million CFA francs for refusing to appear at the tournament.

Eto'o, Enoh and Ekotto have been given 10 days to lodge an appeal.

Let us be "balanced" in our criticisms of others.

1.) A Player must honor his country's request to play for the country. Eto and other refused, ON THAT he was WRONG.

Next question is WHY DID HE REFUSE?


2.) The thieves in the FA, collected money from the 4-Nation tournament organizers, pocketed it and refused to give the players their "own due" as promised. That is a disgrace, it is criminal and we should condemn all these FA officials who are the Thieves, the Accusers and the Judge!

Now, assuming you're Etoo and the other players, what will you do? Be Honest?

What will you do if your employer refuses to pay you an agreed amount, after doing the work for him, and he now wants you do another set of job? Will you do it or demand the payment for previous work done? BE HONEST AND ANSWER.

Am not defending "indiscipline" but we should address issues from the ROOT.
Its not only the players that suffer indiscipline, the "thieving officials" are even worse, and to think they are the ones handing out the ban!
