Eto'o Won’t Appeal Ban by Nobody: 6:22pm On Dec 20, 2011
Samuel Eto’o has said he will not appeal the fifteen match ban slammed on him by the Cameroon football federation, FECAFOOT.

Eto’o’s lawyer, Barrister Gabriel Parfait Kaldjob, who also represented Eyong Enoh at the disciplinary committee of FECAFOOT, spoke to SuperSport.com on behalf of his client, Eto’o. He said he has received instructions from the Anzhi striker not to appeal the heavy verdict.

“FECAFOOT officials should have first assumed their responsibilities before sanctioning the players. It is absurd that they slammed such heavy sentence on a player who was speaking on behalf of the team. My client has instructed me not to file any appeal,” Gabriel Parfait Kaldjob said.

The FECAFOOT verdict stipulated that the sanctioned players have 10 days to appeal before the committee.

However, it was unlikely that the decision would have been reversed even if the players appeared before the committee. It has often been a rough ride between the Indomitable Lions captain and officials of the federation.

It has, however, surprised many that Eto’o has yet to make any public declarations following the ruling. This is contrary to popular expectations that he will appear in the media and make declarations revealing hidden aspects of the Marrakech saga.

Before the hearing of the committee, Eto’o threatened to sue the federation’s vice president, Francis Mveng. He also reserved very unkind words for the federation’s officials whom he has often described as dishonest and corrupt.

Nonetheless, it is hoped that the decision can be reversed as certain articles of FECAFOOT rules stipulate that the Federation's President and the minister of sports and physical education can overrule the verdict of the disciplinary committee.

Also, it is highly believed that the Presidency of the Republic might intervene and order the reversal of the decision considering Eto’o has personal and warm relationship with the presidential family.

All has not been said on this matter since Eto'o is expected to make a public declaration on TV on Tuesday 20th December 2011
