Good old days they were. . . . . . .I can't even rmbr the last time I saw a child flying a kite.
Kids don't build bird cages no more, not to talk of even catching the birds themselves.

They don't pursue abutata, catch ladybirds or do tyre racing.

Watt the eff do they do to catch some fun. undecided

wow, i remember most of them if not all. as kids we used to make our own toys ,especially cars in benin city, close to new benin market. we use to make our toys car with empty tins.we use to play picture chewing gun and farest, table soccer on cement floor.to make it all short i even remember when i was found also doing the dirty on one of our many hide and seek in the dark with the first girl i like as a kid. we even use to go into the great benin moat to play, and there was alot of cars and lorries dump in side there for scarp .as the years go by people begin fighting even almost killing each other because of the metal to sell them as scrap as it was a huge market for them. i only wish i took football seriously , like my friends, i stop playing because i keep hurtting my toes ,playing with no shoes, lol.

anyway nice one ,
i enjoy my childhood.

Re: Back In The Days; Xmas Special by ProfJYK(m): 7:10am On Dec 26, 2011
hmmmmmmmm. Nostalgia. I really wonder what common ground kids of today would have to share in d future.
I remember it all. playing *nearest to d wall* with rubber bands and having your palms flogged with flip-flops (dunlop slippers) for being the furthest from d wall after every round. then the level of trickery employed to make the hits sting more by hitting flesh or dodging the blows if I won or lost. walking d streets with a long chain link of rubber bands won from *slippo* the guy or gang with d longest chain was crowned local champ, bragging rights and all.

watching my them girls play 10-10, with young feet flying in d sand and after hours of play, they would b standing in an unintentionally dug ditch from stumping feet.

would like to go back just to have a taste of innocence.

@all, nice thread. nice memories. something to take out mind from the carnage. God bless us all.
