@lagcity
I very much doubt that a thread would have sufficed if it were some senegalese(black) choir that sang "keresimesi". This thread is here because the almighty White people were involved.

Many Yorubas also sing in english  shocked Have you ever heard an english man say he/shes proud because a black person is singing in english? Dont think so!
Nothing to be proud of.

I would say you (as well as a lot of others) are missing the point. English is our first language in Nigeria, and is widely spoken. Yoruba is certainly not a language used by Western Caucasians. So of course, it's unusual to find a Caucasian speaking Yoruba, even more unusual to hear them singing in the same language. It is not unusual to hear a Yoruba man / woman singing in English, because English is a common language in Nigeria, and is taught in all schools.

Yoruba is certainly not taught to Western Caucasians in the West. Get it?

Its so sad some people cant differentiate between a major language and minor language. There are official languages and unofficial languages.
Yoruba language is not popular like English,French et al,

Thank you Siena, they should google the most spoken languages in the world and see where English, French, Spanish, Mandarin,Port, ,is and compare with Yoruba, Igbo. Even Hausa,Swahili are more popular than Yoruba. So we should appreciate that these people chose Yoruba for their carol.

The carol is not fake, read their lips very well. There are times the audio doesnt match with the video and I am sure some of you must have seen such videos.

There's no doubt whatsoever that they were actuallly singing in Yoruba. Watch their lips very well.

Funny thing is that the white mormon choir singing the betelehemu song, were using proper Igbo drums and ichaka but you see no one making a noise over it. Some people really do feel inferior sha.

The yoruba boys on this thread won't kill me,I don laugh piss for body,chei someone actually said he's proud to be yoruba cos the whites sang in his dialect and even accused another of jerosi cos it wasn't sang in his,what a way to display inferiority complex. grin grin

Its obvious you're pained by those videos,and just trying to mask your feelings and i'm sure those same choirs that sang in Yoruba today could

sing in Igbo tomorrow or your language(whatever it is) and then you'd commend them,innit? You must be one Smart-ass sissy. grin

They may be Americans, and the choir may be high school kids even though they appear older.  There's not much info here:

Some people will never see anything good in what this choir has done as long as it is Yoruba. They will have preferred their tribe instead. This is the real definition of complex exhibited by some inferior beings that tremble at the mention of any Yoruba praise.
