Spyder880, perhaps it is because i am a silent member of this forum that is why you ignored my question on the fence construction thread. I feel it shouldn't be so. What you're doing is greatly educating many of us. I take no offence and i will still ask my question here again. I need to fence a plot of land measuring 60 x 120 feet. How many pieces of 6inches blocks will complete the fence? How many bags of cement, how many rod and size will do the job to completing. That's all i need to know. Thanks and God bless! |

^^^^ How high do you want the fence to go, 10 blocks, 11, 12 high? Will you cast the pillars or use block supports? What about the gate, are you standing it with the fence? What type of land to be blinded, sandy, stony, swampy? Please post answers to the fence thread and I will try and give you the estimate before 24 hours. Thanks Spyder880, i will do that right away. However, let me just mention it here too. The fence has to be of normal lenght. At most 12 blocks. It doesn't have to become a prison wall. The land is a sandy one. I want pillers to be casted and pillers will have to hold the gates too. Many thanks! |

wale_1973: In that case, a 12 high, pillar casted fence of 60x120 ft will take 3600 blocks 6'' hollow 90 bags of cement 30 1x12x12 planks (pull and re use as you go) 10 pounds weight of 3'' nail 4 trips of sand 2 trips of gravel/granite 45 rods of 12mm thanks |

We shall certainly start this work by next week. Most of the materials we shall need must have been provided by then. We are putting final touches to arrangements and boys are packing their bags to be deployed to this site. We are also looking at changing some aspects of the plan to reflect more modern designs. |

Almost all the materials we need to build this house has been provided and we plan to move into site by Monday morning. |

Work started late at this site today owing to some little wayside problems, we got to the site around 12 noon and soon commenced activities. But first the family we are working for organized a small reception for us, they welcomed us with the Igbo traditional kolanuts, prayers were offered for the safe and timely completion of this project in the name of Jesus, and yes, they produced the almighty palmwine!  My men felt very welcome in the new environment. Some pictures of the few hours work we did. In this first picture, some logs of wood which were still blocking the build space were quickly removed from the space to work.
