This is a Hallmark of all false religions, they deceptively mention the bible, only so far as they can twist some verses out of it to suit their purpose. Where this is blatantly not possible, they call is corrupted.

The bible you are talking about was written by some set of people , they only planned the authoring so wrong from the beginning even this the same bible have been edited over and over again but still , we still found clearly errors , big lies and other stolen histories from other source of religions or believes from around the World .

I agree in principle with the caveat over translation - if the original meaning is lost then you may no longer be dealing with the true Word of God. I don't think any Christian would disagree with this.

I had a pair of very young and gifted Canadian Mormons come you my house in the UK a few years back.

I was going to invite them into the house to have some tea and discuss their religion on one condition ONLY, we use the Bible. They refused.

They insisted on using the Book of Mormons , while I stuck to my bible stance.

We kindly parted ways.

You can research their belief system on Google, but suffice me to say that their understanding of God and Christ is even worse than the case of ISLAM.

God and Christ are all created beings they say and had sexual relations with associated offspring, this is just a tip of the iceberg.
