As a novice in building, I will welcome suggestions and guidance on planning, execution/style and prices of materials from many gurus in this blog. When I start, I will be updating you guys with progress and pictures whenever I get them. I will also be asking so many questions as I am not in Nigeria.

Below is the approximate cost so far:


Land =1.5m
Agreement = 15,000
survey =70,000
Expenses (cement & sand for pillars, labour & transport) = 40,000
TOTAL = N1,625,000


Architect is currently drawing the plan.

I want to make things clear to every landlord and an intending landlords.
Purchase a plot of land, purchase of building materials and being conveyed to the site varies from location to location.
Especially in Lagos, compare Lekki-Ajah to ketu,mowe-ibafo will
(1) differ as to purchase a plot of land,
(2)You might get materials at same price at the base(factory) say, a tonnage. but cost of transporting will totally different fom one location to the other; including the wood.
Now,back to my point. Also skilled workers have varying prices,but all depends on negotiation provided you're seasoned in the field.
Have your building project plan scanned and send it to this forum for scrutiny with location specified and the taste.
Then different quotations will arrive and now left to individuals interest to choose from the alternatives.
These had resulted in so many projects being abadoned in our country. why,bcs costing were not well done(variation), and as projects get delayed, price do go higher.Let's try and plan for our projects,it may be in stages and pay for such so that both parties will be happy.
