MUSLIM youths, under aegis of Concerned Citizens of Kano State, alongside members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kano State chapter, on Sunday, visited Churches in Kano to assure Christians that no harm would come to them.

The Muslim youths were led by Alhaji Bashir Is’haq, while CAN members were led by the state chairman of the association, Bishop Ransome Bello.

While introducing the Muslims, Bishop Bello told the congregation at the four churches visited namely: Our Lady of Fatimah Catholic Church, Cathedral of Holy Trinity, ECWA Hausa section, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church and Calvary Life Church International, that they were intelligent and dedicated Muslims who were in their midst to preach peace.

Bishop Bello also urged Christians resident in the state to disregard any threat sent through text messages, adding that the God that had protected them from birth was still alive to protect them against wicked people.

In his speech, Alhaji Is’haq said, “we are here to deliver a message of hope, peace and solidarity.

“Muslims are not a source of threat to you, but a source of security . They don’t wish you any harm but peace and well-being. Whatever touches you touches them. In them, you have a dependable ally.”

Alhaji Is’haq further charged Christians in Kano and Nigeria in general, to unite with Muslims to fight common enemies such as corruption, bad government, dishonesty, crime, insecurity, greed and injustice.

According to him, “no doubt, Muslims have wronged their Christian brothers and Christians have wronged their Muslim brothers, but this is not the time to apportion blame but a time of reconciliation.”
