Samsung is a South Korean conglomerate corporation with business interests in a wide range of products and services such as information and communication equipment, electronics, ship construction, entertainment, retail, aviation, chemical, financial services, and so forth. Samsung is headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, South Korea.

Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chull in 1938 as an export company selling products such as vegetables, fruit and fish to China. Samsung later added confectionery equipment and flour mill to its line of business and continued to spread its hands to other business concern such as finance, ship building, entertainment, chemicals, and so forth.

Well, I guess, most likely, you have never associated Samsung with a business concern such as finance or ship building. Whenever, you hear the word, "Samsung," you will likely think "Mobile Phones" and other electronic gadgets. Anyway, the electronics aspect of Samsung began in 1969 with the establishment of Samsung Electronics. The division initially started out with the production of televisions, radios, computer equipment and other electronic gadgets. In 1977, they expanded to include telecommunication in its line of business.

Samsung launched its first mobile phone, Samsung SH-100, in 1988. Samsung has continued to add new product features, introduce new models and services, and acquire or partner with technology providers. Samsung mobile products and services are used by millions of customers around the world to stay connected to the people and content that matter most throughout their day.
