If Christ should come now, where will you spend your long eternity?

This is a question which formed the focal point of a sermon I heard so many years ago when I was a teenager and it is for all of us to consider seriously. You may quietly reflect and contemplate on this question in the stillness of your own quiet time as there is no need to respond directly to the post.

The Pagan's and the Aetheists and the other non-christians decry the message of the Gospel and they criticise Christians for holding to such beliefs. If you fall into this category let me ask you this: Do you know what happens or where you are going when you die? If you cannot answer this question then do not attack my beliefs. At the very least my faith gives me a hope - a hope that one day when I die and pass from this earth I may inherit eternal life at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you have a hope? Do you know what happens when you die?

17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. (Jude 1)

3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. (2 Pet 3)
