hmmm. . . .difficult one! Which masters? okay, gimme 2 years to think about that! I could say Raphael and anger Leonardo da Vinci, or say Michaelangelo and send an audible murmur resonating through the host of Florence. No! I won't
Baroque art!? not so sure. Baroque music!? please, gimme more!! I discovered Johann Pachelbel some months ago and have never had enough. Certainly, architecture too.
but wait a minute! What woman goes around talking about classical art, architecture or music? You must be one rare breed!

Renaissance art,

The late masters ie Raphael, as he influenced a lot of his pupils later, Michelangelo: the Sistine Chapel is a testament. Beautiful!!!!!. Da Vinci he is the most famous of them all, but he had only a few paintings compared to the 2 above. The early masters, I'm learning about and understanding their patterns. Berninni, I do like his works though.

Baroque cuts it for me particularly the architecture: most old palaces in Europe are built on this theme, particularly during the prussian expansion. Music of Händel, Bach certainly express this flamboyant but organised pattern. It's playful, not as much as in Rococco art, colourful but still organised.

Sure there are a lot of chicks who r into this. But its not a conversation starter. It's easier talking shoe n bag. When conversing, ask about Sistine Chapel, duhhh!! Ask about Valentino, D& G, u get a full chapter: they are in the same country though.

Have to say, there are few 9ja men who r into this too, so u must be a rarer breed too. That's assuming u r 9ja. What does ur signature mean?

of course, the Italian masters are it. The sistine chapel is not only a work of art, it's a testament of genius. Have u seen any of these works for yourself? I'm more interested in da Vinci as the man than in da Vinci as the artist. that was after all only a small part of him. Not to forget the so-called artists of the lower countries. The van Eyck brothers or van der Weyden. I remember van Eyck's virgin with child. exquisite! Somewhat, early and later renaissance art has something about it that stays forever irreproducible.
the music is what thrills me, though. Ever listened to Allegri's Miserere? Please do! The use of voice, the mix of voices and substitution of voice for chords and chords for voice. For me, the art only comes after the music. Modern and post-modern art is even welcome, but I'd resist post-modern music a little, certainly. What do you think of expressionism and surrealism in 20th century art? Do you by any chance also do philosophy?
I doubt though if there are that many chics who are into art as such. Perhaps, if by art you include Valentino's exquisite red gowns styled for upper-class royalty, or prada's flamboyant handbags, then I would agree with you. otherwise, I insist there are not so many. . .
