As far as am concerned, the FA/EPL should be blamed for the decline of English teams in European competitions.
1. The Capital One Cup should be scrapped and the FA Cup should now be played over two legs over the course of the entire season.

2. Teams should now ve winter breaks. While Bundesliga and La Liga teams are busy enjoying the snow and sipping their winter juice EPL teams are busy playing almost 8 extra games with two FA Cup matches between December 1 and January 31.
