i went there today for the TB I applied 3 days ago.. They said I should come on Monday

Primary market

Stanbic is never in a hurry to debit their NTB customers. Their debits may even be as late as Friday when you would have thought that it was not successful and sometimes, they may still be sending messages to you regarding it as late as Thursday morning

Hello gurus in the house, first bank gave me 14.99 for 364 days..Is that good or the rate is poor? I also invested the interest along with the capital which is 2m , that made my interest compound...What should i expect at the end of the tenor? Please, kindly help me out...

With the CBN stop rate at 15.20%, it's not bad at all.
The rates appears to have reached their parabolic height for now and are descending southwards.

Your interest at the end of the tenor will be in the range of between N340,000 & N345,000.

Next primary market is almost certainly going to be lower than the last one.

It means your interest is N14,207. At the end of 91 days, you will get your N435,000.
oh..is that how it's done ? So I will receive 435k back after 91 days?

Good evening house, please i am currently in Maiduguri, I operate account with first bank , i visited their office today that i want to invest in treasury bill but the lady in charge told me she does not know much about secondary market but she gave me a form to fill.

She told me she also participate in that of the primary but she has never done that of secondary market. I asked them what rate is available she told me that she did not know, from all my discussion with her she sound like a novice that is just put in charge, i was ask to meet another of their boss but he himself does nt know much but they told me to fill the form that they will communicate with me via email and they also advice me to go for primary.

Please my concern is that since no rate and tenor was shown to me which i was told will be given to me based on availability should i continue to fill the form. if i do not like the rate and tenor because i want something 100days or lesser can i reject the offer without penalty or loss in my capital for the bidding.
please i want advice of what i can do in this case , please house

Treasury bills is all about lending money to the government on a short term basis. It has 3 maturity period, 91 days, 182 days and 364 days. The higher the tenure the higher the rate.
Whichever tenure you choose, the rate of interest is calculated annually and prorated.
You can starr by going to your bank and telling the customer care that you want to invest in treasury bills., although some banks will not accept your 100k cos it might be too low.
I think first bank accepts 100k though.
Then.........

My own personal thoughts, 100k might not give you an average of more than 1300 monthly...
I advice you could do it once, to know what it feels like and how much you like it, and if you are still young, taking more daring risk could be worthwhile.
You can also compare regular treasury bills with mutual Funds, i have a thread that explains mutual funds, check the topic i created.
Cheers

I = PTR/(364 * 100)

I = Interest = 14,2017

P = Principal = 435,000

T = Time = 91

R = Rate = Unknown

I = PTR/(364 * 100) = PTR/36400

R = I * 36400 / (PT)

R = (14,207 *36,400) / ( 435,000*91 )

R = 51,7134,800/39,585,000

R = 13.06390804597701

R = 13.06%

It is very abnormal pls and I know Stanbic and First bank does not deduct any kobo from matured NTB.
Well, I won't be suprised if UBA, does that cause I had a bad experience with them some years back that made me abandon my account with them when they zeroed my account from about 10k in the name of frivolous deductions.

All the same, I don't believe they will deduct a kobo. You will simply see an alert that the exact invested amount has been credited onto you account on that day-you don't even need to ask or remind them. Pls let us know if any deduction is made
thanks it came tru and there was no deductions. Thanks

As much as you do Treasury Bill investments, I'll advise we do real estate property investments too. You'll always get it right here because it keeps appreciating, especially in some good locations that is guaranteed fast appreciation and high ROI like Ibeju-Lekki and Ajah. We have as cheap as N700k on promo that ends this October in this Ibeju-Lekki axis with all relevant paper based on current status. A particular land in Ibeju-Lekki that my clients bought 3 plots from around This year March @N700k is presently N2.5m. You don't want to ask me his cone such appreciation. Well, that's why the rich are getting richer. Rover Kiyosaki and Donald do a lot if Real Estate and they became billionaires through this. They jeep advising those who gave the means and have privilege of such info as this to do this more often to guarantee a comfortable future for our family. It may surprise you to know that many in diaspora are l accumulating a lot of this. Check my signature for More details sir.

You don't have to do anything just wait and receive the alert on Thursday of the week it is to expire. However if it is first Bank you may not get alert but the money will still enter your account.

CAUTION!!!
It MAY be suicidal to contact your account officer about your intentions to do NTB. In most cases, you will be frustrated and exploited if he knows or realises that you are a newbie in it
