i'm Currently Serving In Ebonyi. Week 2 of Orientation.
The Camp is Horrible. No Water, (Some people have gone a Week Without having their Bath), No Light, the Food Sucks Real Bad & the Soldiers are Totally Unruly & Punish People at Will for no Reason at all. They Slap/Beat people With Rod & Whip, Molest you. You get to do uncountable Frog Jump & Sleep with your White inside Murky water. The Camp Commander here a Sadistic Maniac Named "Embu Ogar" is Hitlers Reincarnation.
The welcome party was a Bore Fest, like watching paint Dry, a Funeral has More Spice than the Rubbish "Party?" lasted just 1 hour. They had to literally Force People to attend. A platoon that Refused to Dance during the dance Competition Were Punished the Next Day. Shay Party na by Force?
Light-out is by 10pm. Woe betide you if you try 2 Read or do anything at All.
I ask Where is the Fun that is Much Talked about in this Nysc Camp? I still don't get the Essence of this 3 Weeks Orientation. Totally waste of Time.
If this is how Nigeria Treat its Graduate then there is No way Forward 4 this Country.

I'm curently serving in kaduna, back there in camp, it wasnt this horible. Though d food was neva suficient, it was ok n hygenic kuz it was cookd by corp membas. D officers were fair but strict 2 adherence of laid down rules. It was realy fun.

I'm presently serving in Osun state. Camp z not as bad as u guys seem to have it in Ebonyi. We have light n water most of the tym. It gets to d soldiers too but overall, dey r nt so bad - I avnt seen anyone roll on the ground, dey don't use rods or whips on us. The camp director z about d nicest person I av ever met. Light out is by ten too but den nobody bothers u as long as u r in ur room. I hear d food z not so nyc - avnt tasted it sha, I'm a mammy major (dat sucks too anyway).
Not so bad afterall

@Poster, u don't expect camp to be like Presidential Villa.

Meanwhile u must have attitudinal problem if u are having problems with the soldiers there. They are usually nice and u can hang out once in a while with them. That is if u are the social type though.

cheesy[quote author=Mkpotu]@Poster, u don't expect camp to be like Presidential Villa. bro have of heard of the nysc camp located in Shagamu Township Stadium wink, just imagine having a spacious world class studium as your camp site then you understand that some camps site(maybe yours in a small secondary school) are refugee camps while others are presidential villa

Camp in abj (kubwa) was fun when i was there last year. Though living conditions were bad, our food was okay(altho i was a mammy major). The soldiers are okay nad nice to hang out wif if u dont challenge them. The first days of camp were hell and i broke down and cried for the stress of it but after that initial period mehn camp was fun.

Camp was mega fun for me jare. Mammy market was like one big club, platoon rivalry was legendary, NCCF was the bomb, Man O'war was fun (turi ta, turi ta, turi ta ta). I even got to enjoy parade under the sun sef. (Prenshun! Parade will advance in slow and quick time, division into columns, slooooooooow march....) There are lots and lots and lots of all kinds of pple to meet. Dats wat makes it Very interesting.

So forget abt all the incoveniences and enjoy these three weeks that you will NEVER have again.Have a positive attitude, make memories, meet new people, do things you've not done before and have fun!

Served last year in delta state... It was the bomb. Soldiers were clean and cool. I enjoyed the drills and of course I took part in it. Platoon one. Prade Shun! .... Double!!!!!! Camp for me was the best part of nysc. The rest na suffer head and cds was like Igbo village meeting. (Every one talks,no one listens) Am my ppa was rubbish. After spending 5 years in school,I was asked to sweep my office everyday, buy food for oga everyday, and go for errants that even HND holders sent me... For their mind "u b copper". *hmmm!

I served in Katsina where all our needs are supplied, just that those posted to Kano do not allow us to finish our three weeks. All the same, Katsina is a very nice place to be and my place of primary assignment is FUNTUA. Best of luck

Some of u guys complaining about camp experience shud better develop d right attitude and enjoy camp.
I served in katsina and i must say that the camp is d best in Nigeria(as others have just observed). Lights, water, modern 2-story building hostel, sweet mammy(nostalgia!!), tiled parade ground, friendly soldiers, lots of wonderful corpers, lots of girls!!! My friends were making out on d pavellion, behind d hostels...lol.
Though i couldnt make out sha but i got BJ‘s from two different chicks. ***winks***
So guys have fun wit ur remaing days.

You have said it all....
The camp was tha best men....
And if you are posted to ogun state please don't try to work your way to abeokuta except u have a very good link up here if u know what I mean.
abeokuta is quite interesting but also not very corper friendly.
As u guys step out of camp tommorow, I wish u the best ogun, State has to offer. I am currently in abeokuta, and I can tell u that the level of rejection out here is horrible.
Even govt, ministries and schools reject corpers like mad.
All the same if u are a CPET, and u get posted to abeokuta just ask for the vice president of YAHSAC CDS And I Will sure render any assistance that is within my power.
Once again all the best. Omo ogun ise ya.
I would only drop my BB pin here, can't risk giving out my number though.
