New Nairaland's theme is designed to be mobile phone friendly HTML, but some older WAP phones can't access HTML at all. For this reason, we've used the Google WAP proxy to create a WAP-friendly view of Nairaland for WAP-phone users. Visit wap.nairaland.com to see it. We want New Nairaland to work on every type of mobile device. (URL Corrected) 4 Likes |

Re: New Nairaland On Old WAP Phones by Emeka72(m): 7:04pm On Mar 21, 2012 |
@Seun, Yes I think it will do because I use WAP phone and could not access Nairaland Forum on my phone so it limited Me from visiting d forum. I will like it if it works on WAP platform. |

Emeka 7.: Oga,I wonder how you even enjoyed the old Nairaland on a WAP phone.I tried it on a Samsung C3212 and it was nothing to write home about. Seriously, you need to consider installing a 3rd party browser. You appear to be the only one still using a WAP browser. 1 Like |

The mobile site version is cool, but the web version is crap...IMHO. Continue to tweak the web version until you make it desirable. 1 Like |

Seun: New Nairaland's theme is designed to be mobile phone friendly HTML, but some older WAP phones can't access HTML at all. From frying pan to fire, yikes, you have gotten the wrong end of the stick. What these WAP users are telling you is that NL2 looks like what NL1 one used to render on their WAP browser (what you have up there), but at least then, they had the chance/were given the option to choose to view it on a tabled HTML platform. Perchance you decide to go back to the drawing board: *the tiny fonts are killing and are a sight for sore eyes, and zooming only just twice renders the page out of synch. *inject a bit of background colour (my eyes were watery after barely being online for an hour and I developed tension headache) and after we at yabaleft spent millions of Zimbabwean Dollars bringing NL's Godmother Chaircover up to the correct trend in the fashion stakes and having her rocking those on-point akwa-oche trousers, we are not happy that she is ruining her trendy looks with that her old bottle-end thick lense goggles she had to go back to wearing to help her see and navigate through NL2, all thanks to you. So awon boyz and awon gbogbo bigger gurlz and awon Jennykadryz *make multiple quotes less tedious and bring back the ability to quote from the reply page. *shooting myself in the foot here, but if "statistics" means anything to you. . .what is the point of being a member when a "guest" can "see" it all 2 Likes |

Oh one more thing, okay two: *oh please bring back my beloved google search or me and you go enter one knicker *and finally, you know kids these days can't even spell their own names correctly, so for the sake of Chaircover's great grandchilden and great great grandchilden, and great great great grandchildren, she sent me the message to tell you to bring back spellchecker for their sake 2 Likes |

Re: New Nairaland On Old WAP Phones by Brite02(m): 5:31pm On Mar 24, 2012 |
My major prblem is the bright shinny theme/color, i just wish @seun uses NL1 format(color). Imagine browsing/surfing this site in night when there is power outage Mehn its worse i.e the white color is too bright sincerely... |

Imanuelle: @Ima, its a piece of my mind; its not a must you pick on my response to the thread. Go ahead and have your opinion heard. The Web/Nairaland is a virtual word, you don't know, likewise what i can do. Kindly, chew your words "U dey form tight, i won't be surprised u cnt write nuffin" It's unmatured for a matured mind. #cheers ! |
