Dude, I don't know how our CL sojourn will pan out. I'm not going to get ahead of myself and rate our chances high just on the back of 3 wins over 3 average teams. UCL is a different ball game and, for the fact that we've been far away from our glory days means I can't be too confident on a team still trying to get back to the top.

I expect us to qualify from our group, but any other expectation will be formed depending on our form by January. Realistically, for now, I'll say round of 16 or quarter-final at most is where we can get to.

Unfortunately the English for all their innovation aren't very smart people.

This will only empower European opponents the more.

I'm thinking the idea for this was borne from the supposed need of the smaller clubs to somewhat curtail the spending by the big sides. But it will only mean that those big sides will do spend more to negate whatever disadvantages this new rule will attempt to bridge. Even from a simplistic view it makes sense to keep the window open for as long as possible to enable you strengthen.

I think the clubs are just refusing to sell. The players are obviously unsettled.

This will only drive up the already over-inflated prices in the market where you have to pay above 50 million to get a decent/above average player.

That's another angle, valid. But for me, there's no point keeping an unhappy player at the club when he clearly wants out.

The four players listed are presently unsettled and it's left to be seen how well they'll perform this season.

Imagine an unsettled Hazard in this chelsea team, no way it won't affect us over the course of the season.

I support this move. All transfers should be closed before season starts. You have from June to August 1st week to do transfers not the one clubs will be rushing on August 31st like they just heard it

Also for parity in the level of opposition played. E.g Like Say Chelsea played Brighton in the first weeks and beat them, before transfer window deadline day, Sheikh Diggz from House of Dangote, first of his name buys Brighton and they strengthen significantly, That means other teams in the league are not playing the same Brighton that Chelsea beat.

You can argue that injuries can decimate a team and make them unrecognizable but at least we would be dealing with injuries not just a factor that can be controlled

A recent example of such was when Man Utd beat Arsenal 8-2 on August 28 like 3 days to the end of window, in the following 3 days Arsenal brought in like 5 players which made them stronger and those who played Arsenal post window close faced a much stronger side
