Beautiful.

8 points.

Thats a 3 game advantage.

JM teams lose about 3 games a season on average.

Which means it is highly unlikely for City to catch us.

Thís City team have got motivation issues sef. Dem no serious. Na Southampton man dey watch now jare.

All these one wen Soton dey do na for show. Dem don face only 2 strong opponents and dem obviously lost. Until dem play Man U, Man City and Chelsea and take at least 3pts from these games - dem no be title challengers yet.

But one thing they can do is to secure a spot in Europe if the other big boys no shine dem eyes.

Imagine Soton qualifying for Europe in a league where Man U and Liverpool, Man City are still playing - It'd be a real disgrace.

They are winning games they can. That is a huge achievement for a team that lost a core of their squad from last season; including their manager. They've only dropped 8pts from a possible 33.

So u din't know they lost to Tottenham and the struggling Liverpool.

Fatigue will be a major set-back for the team come december. Too many games in a short time

The fact that we are now counting those they lost to is testament to how well they've done. After losing Lovren, Lambert, Shaw, Lalana and their manager, no one would have placed Southampton at this stage higher than 15th.

Crucial 3 pts in the race. I see City dropping points away to Liverpool and Arsenal. Places where we have picked max points. Those are the crucial games for the title. Especially if we don't drop points against the Leicesters of the league.

Citizens are already dropping points grin cheesy

I just hope a team like Soton doesn't end the team's unbeaten run.

Post-match stats
Chelsea have scored in 12 successive
Barclays Premier League matches.
Chelsea have netted five goals in the
opening 15 minutes of matches this
season, more than any other team in the
top flight.
Only Crystal Palace (eight) have scored
more goals from set-pieces than Chelsea
(seven) in the Barclays Premier League
this season.
Gary Cahill scored his first Barclays
Premier League goal since December
2013, when he scored at Stamford Bridge
against Southampton.
Liverpool have only kept two clean sheets
in their last 17 Barclays Premier League
matches.
Diego Costa scored his 10th Barclays
Premier League goal in his ninth
appearance in the competition; Mick
Quinn (six) is the only player to reach
double figures in fewer (Mark Viduka and
Papiss Cisse also took nine).
All 10 of Costa’s BPL goals have been
scored from inside the box.
After a run of four successive Barclays
Premier League wins against Chelsea,
Liverpool are winless in five against the
Blues (D2 L3).
Only in two Barclays Premier League
seasons have Liverpool had fewer than 14
points after 11 matches (1992/93 and
2012/13 (both 12)).
Only two teams in Premier League history
have ever had more than 29 points at this
stage (Chelsea in 2005/06 and Man City in
2011/12 both had 31, and both won the
title).
The only previous team in the Barclays
Premier League to have exactly 29 points
after 11 matches were Newcastle United
in 1994/95, they finished the campaign
sixth.

I don't see them stopping Chelsea and there's a big chance Chelsea could go this season unbeaten, the way mourinho sets up those players is just amazing , i think he knows how to draw a game , and what he was craving for is a killer striker in Diego , and players like Hazard, Fab and Oscar have shown they can score when it matters most. Yes its just 11 games played , if we are to lose our unbeaten start , it might fall around gameweek 20 which is next year.
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by Nobody: 3:34am On Nov 09, 2014
In Mourinho's 2 title-winning seasons with Chelsea, the team went unbeaten from August thru October (2004 and 2005).

Will history repeat itself?

'But in modern football I don't believe in going unbeaten all season. It's a good start and we can keep this stability.

'We can lose tomorrow but my team is still the same. One day we will lose but the next game we will win again.

'We will play badly but we will recover our game because we are a strong team. We are a stable team.

'I have been in the game so long I know the defeat will arrive and the bad moment will arrive. We will be ready for that.

'We believe in everything. We are a happy camp. We believe in the players.'

- Jose Mourinho
