In commeration of the player of the season awards holding today I thought I should drop up a list of top eleven performers for the season here goes

2.RB bacary sagna(arsenal)
He has been one of the few bright consistent performers of arsenal's down up season his mostly reliable defending coupled with exceptional runs down the flanks resulting in inch perfect crosses mr sagna has truly established himself as one of the divisions elite fullbacks and for clarification he was absent from the 8-2 debacle at old trafford
3.LB leighton baines(everton)
No frills or thrills with this guy but by george does he know his job which is to defend. His forays up-front with an end product of great crosses shows why he such an invaluable player. His calmness under pressure further underlines the usefulness of this player. Some might say the underwhelming performances of A.cole and evra have enabled him take the limelight but I don't think anyone would begrugde giving the scouser his due.
4.DF vincent kompany(man city)
This belgain is a man mountain personified. Supreme in the air and fantastic on the ground kompany is world-class no doubt. His reading of the game and tactical nous is second to non. A leader of men his performances formed the spine of man city's title push this season time will tell if they will rue his suspension during the hectic december fixtures
5.DF younis kaboul(tottenham)
The attacking play of the spurs may be what a lot of people say pushed them this high up the log but a steady resilient backline has been the fulcrum for which this season performances have been built. This has been led by no other than kaboul. He has been spurs ever present in the revolving door of defensive pairings(king,gallas,dawson).his improved reading of the game and dominance in the air has made him a shoe-in for this list.
6.DM alex song(arsenal)
There's only one song and arsenal fans are singing it. The camerounian has been one of the shinning lights of arsenal's iffy season. Usual tough tackling together with his ball winning abilities make him a formidable opponent for any team. With the departure of fabregas his ball distribution has stepped up though not always coming of the few times it has shows he is not far of becoming the complete midfield general.
7.AMF paul scholes(man u)
The ginger ninja what more can one say about the living legend his persona might seem dull uninspiring but definately cannot be said of his onfield play. His return to the man u set-up has been most timely galvanising a creativity shy workman like man u midfield while providing a steady mature hand. He may yet help propel them to the title.
8.AMF cabaye(newcastle)
The goals of demba ba/cisse and skills of the irrepressiele ben arfa may have caught the eye but the meteoric rise of the toon army has been down to the guile technique and efficiency of this frenchman. Apart from his midfield play his fair chipping in with goals could still land his team in the champions league. One can only dream eh?
9.FW silva(man city)
The spanish genius burst out of the blocks with man city in the early part of the season slaying all before them. His skill and trickery at unlocking opposing defences was amazing if not scary. His performances helped steer man city especially during the whole tevez.
Though his performances have dropped abit it would be sad if his brilliant plays doesn't earn him a winners medal.
10.FW wayne rooney(man u)
Wazza was looked upon as being the main man for united this season and he has not disapointed. Goal scoring selfless team play have been the hallmark of his performances this season. Finally stepping out the shadows of berbetov and chicarito and becoming man u's top scorer. His goals might yet clinch them their 20th league title.
11.FW rvp(arsenal)
Who needs batman when you have got robin? What would the gunners have done without him? Definately not third place and I shuder to think the depths they would have plunged. His performances this season have been bettered only by messi and ronaldo past and present winners of the ballond'r. He has shown his critics that when fully fit for the season he's undoubtably an exceptional world class striker. All hail the flying dutchman
