For itching after bathing, l advice you to go to the medical lab. and check your blood for filaria. This parasites lives in the blood and causes reactions in the body. If the test is positive, take it to any doctor for treatment. 2 Likes |

Am excited oh! I Thk God that now am much ok and free from this problem. There is no need for doubts because It was indeed a harrowing encounter for my years with life itching seriously after every bath. But as at today I gotten treated with new scientific breakthrough product and treatment therapy from Dr.Lanndrew who is an exceptional Australian trained Nigerian skin doctor. He helped me and provided me consistent treatment to defeat this problem. I thk God for using him oh. Atleast there are still good ppl in Nigeria doing great things. My story and ordeal started since 2003 during which i ve under gone series of diagnoses/medications to know what causes my itching after bath, but to no avail. It is always discomforting for a young man to spend more than 20 minutes in the bathroom and spend another 40 minutes scratching and pinching ones body. And most times after working for a long time or sweating profusely i was never be myself until after 40 minutes later or about an hour. During hot season it is always unbearable I was afraid of sweating to start itching again. I avoided my friends to avoid embarrassment if it started. Using cold water to bath was like hell on earth, Unless i use hot water atleast d itching be less worse. This is a life troubling disease that has no trace becos i ve spent alot on drugs and herbs on illment yet no result. I came across speculative articles online that said rheumatism and other condtns are the likely cause of it but i wasnt really sure and i was afraid of taking junks as drugs. Then, after years of searching and viewed d internet for solution I finally came across an online message on Nairaland from a contributor named calaharry who gave a detailed info on how to solve this years of my nightmare of itchg after my bath. I emailed them and paid for product which was quickly delivered to me by DHL, then used their product and saw my life got better. Though at first being a Nigerian I thought the info was a scam like others, but it is truely a genuine cause by very humane ppl after they who always willing to help me sincerely overcome this travails and it done on me now that there are still very honest Nigerians doing good works both home and abroad. In fact this is d reason I was amazed to celebrate and share my success story. And I thk God that it is truely a new solution those guys(calaharry) give and I noticed that because it is new service outfit they have large clients demands to tend to, so, they don't even hav time for long phone calls, as they prefer to communicate more thru their email(airfield474@yahoo.com) as said online. I must say dt am not advertising for them but my excitement led me to share my story for all d people suffering itching after bath to stop doubting and contact them to get treated once and for all. I hav said my own oh and I say bye bye to this aquagenic puritus whenever, because am healed. |

I started to have that problem about four years ago and someone recommended I simply wash out me sponge before bathing as it may contain trapped bacteria and dead skin cells. I did that and stopped itching after bathing since then. I even googled washing out your sponge and learnt better ways to maintain my sponge. You can just try washing out your sponge really well with just soap before bathing or disinfecting it, although the simple soap measure is less expensive. |

This is my first contribution to nairaland; I registered cos I might have the answer to this question. There are several reasons for an itching skin after taking a shower or bath, one reason from my personal experience is a loss of your body’s natural oil when you take your bath resulting to a dryer skin. Dry skin easily gets irritated & itchy when scrubbing with sponge or rubbing off water from the skin with a towel. Our skin needs this natural oil & a generous amount of moituring to keep it healthy. Though bathing with soap, sponge, warm water feels very cleansing, it also helps to get rid of the body’s natural oil fast. But there are some simple step to help prevent excessive loss of oil or moisture in the skin during bath/ shower, which can trigger itching. 1. Bath/shower with cold or luke warm water. 2. Use soft sponge or soft body washing fabric only when necessary, I mean sometimes skip using body washing sponge/ fabric. 3. Use mild body soap. 4. Using a clean towel, don’t rub off your wet body too hard this can cause irritation to the skin, rather pat your body gently leaving it slightly damp 5. Apply a generous amount of non oily moisturizing cream on your skin while it’s still slightly damp, this helps to lock the cream into the skin quickly. If you are using a shower hose especially with warm water, reducing your shower time could also help. Having contact with warm water for a long time will definitely wash away more of your body’s natural oil. In summary keeping your skin moistened and retaining your body’s natural oil could be the key to eliminating skin irritation that can trigger itching on your skin. There are also other reasons for itching after bath 3 Likes |

I suffered from this condition for over 30 years. Here is my advice for you. Stop eating fried foods, and oily snacks Don't expose your body to air after bath. Bath with warm water. Use sponge once in a while. If you want to stop the condition permanently, I advice you take Naturelabs Detox Tea. www.naturelabs.ng/7days
