Last year's cut-off was 200 and it would still be the cut-off for this year's post utme.221 is not a bad score;just go and prepare for English,Maths,Accounts,Commerce,Economics n Government for your Post-utme.It would strictly be computer based questions,50 questions in 30minutes.You have got to be very fast and concise.Yes,Uniport accepts Commerce.

Economics is a very competitive course in Uniport.The cut off to qualify for post utme is 200.Uniport accepts second choice,but you have got to score very high in your post utme(say 240 upwards)and your name would precipitate in the supplementary list.Merit list is strictly meant for candidates who chose Uniport as first choice.

Uniport is not admitting into Medicine and Surgery this year.But with your fantastic scores,you would be admitted into pharmarcy,Physiology,dentistry,Anatomy or Biochemistry.Congrats in advance on your admission.

Basic studies is another name for pre-degree.Once you perform wonderfully well in the one year programme,you would be granted admission into your chosen department.Basic studies is strictly for science students.

You don't need to shed tears.That was the same scores I got in my post utme during my own time.It was also sociology and my name popped up first in the department admission list.Though,I was later rejected to history and International studies department due to wrong subject combination.

Got no qualms,bro.Your subjects combination is off the hook.During my time,I wrote govt,econs,geo and english.So,I was rejected because I didn't write any art subject.Well,am presently relishing my course because it's double honours.

For social science faculty,they do admit huge number of candidates due to the astronomical number of jambites who crave the courses i.e 150 upwards.During my time,138 candidates were admitted into sociology department.At the end of the day,only 45 students were left as the rest of us were screened out and sent to other departments,due to wrong subjects combination in utme.
