@Jallow
You never cease to amaze me. Just where did you get that?
Girl I saw one of theese "jiggle it" song that is so hot that I can't post it here.
It was just a dancer but she was dancing too rude, I mean it should strictly be a bedroom thing and not fit to be shown in public.
How the musician featured that in the video, I don't even understand. I will forward it later to your mail box. I came across this Leftside featuring Sean Paul that looks nice. Here it is

I like this song not what the lyrics is talking about. I just like it whenever it's playin but the video is a bit unruly, Koshen should have organized a better seductive video for a song like that.

i love this song.
the chick in the green though!!
dayum! grin

Ivynwa: In as much as these acrobatic displays here are wowing me, there is still something sexy/modest about a woman not going to extremes while dancing. A woman should carry herself excellently while dancing not open legs 180 degrees and dance near n-aked. Guys please don't go making your babes do extreme/mgbeke dancing for you after watching these videos I have here. I shared because I was amazed at the way they made gymnastic out of dancing but they sure overdid things here.

LOL i AGREE. grin

The average Jamo chic would NOT perform these dances in public.
Only the brave ones and the sketels grin would. Even though this type of dancing is part of our culture many Jamaicans, including myself, don't feel it's appropriate to do it certain places. It's something that should be performed in age appropriate videos or er0tic clubs if not at home.

But even with that said...dancing wise Jamo gals are BAAAD!! grin

check out this video

from: 09:40 to the end. It is SCARY how similar their whining style is to ours. Like Trinis and other islanders dance alike. And We do the fast whine too but we also do slower ones that I have yet to see any other islander perform.

For the longest time I wondered where we got the whole "tic toc" and "bubbling" moves from and now I know. No questions asked... smiley I want to know which ethnicity they are from though. cheesy

They got it from the congo as well.

Yeah, you are right, there are many similarities in the dancing, look at the girl in the Olomide video at 10:02 that head curving thing, i see some dancers doing it in the dancehall music videos. Wining seems to have been an age old thing, though nowadays women are more brazen at it. The generation of our parents wine in their women meeting dance, they softly shake their booties while still holding their body modestly. The yorubas in our country have a kind of dance in which you see women shaking their booties, all these are accepted as part of dance. It's just nowadays that musicians took it to another level altogether so wining has been around in African culture but wasn't pronounced before. Jallow it's nice of you showing those Gambia dance, this is my first time of having a glimpse into Gambian culture.

@Jallow I think the gambian dancing has influenced AA dancing more so than dancehall.
I don't really see much similarities, however I do know some AA moves that are similar. smiley

@Ivy I agree. I think we have taken what our forefathers introduced to our part of the world to another level by adding the acrobatic moves with the pelvic gyrations.

Not gambian dance, but african traditional dance in general. The a*s-shaking, the whine, even the twerk. They do that in the bush, and they did not watch and learn from youtubewink

Hahaha can you blame a woman irrespective of class or enlightenment or exposure who sometimes will want to shake her bootie. That reminds me of Dbanj that sang in his song "You must need need bom bom"------hahaha that part of his song is so funny. Girls how about an oliver twist, this song is making waves travelling across the oceans and i am happy for the Nigerian Fella Dbanj.
