RIM's Blackberry OS 10 is finally released and includes the much awaited Qt C++ libraries. The library which is actually a modification of the normal Qt C++ Library and QML, provides support for virtually all normal Qt C++ library and is called 'CASCADES'. The library is quite robust.. Provides some library extensions with functionalities that were not available in the normal Qt C++ libraries.... The cascades library has access to: -Network APIs -Cryptographic APIs -media players -supports implementation of in-app purchasing RIM provided an SDK(beta) for developement with the cascades Qt libraries.. Yet to Run the installer though. The cascades UI seems as if it is meant to be run only on high-end hardwares as the graphical components are rendered with Open-GL ES. All in all, RIM decided to give developers a wider developement field and to improve their dour looking GUI. |
