According to w.h.o world health organisation we need to engage our self in doing these 3 things regularly .they are 1, rest - they said we need to rest at least 8 hours daily .but due to the nature of our job the can not really help us in that aspect .2, exercise ,and the best exercise from which our body derive maximum benefit is swimming .also if you look at our environment you will discover that we do not have swimming pool in most of our homes as a result of this they can not really help us in this aspect as well. The third and most important one is diet .what is diet? Diet is what we eat ,everybody do eat .so what we are supposed to gain from diet is nutrient ,and this nutrient goes directly into our cell,from there it goes into the tissue ,from there there it goes into our organ ,from there it goes into our system ,from there it goes into our body. W.h.o world health organisation researched and came out with the conclusion that for us to live an healthier, longer for younger life we should eat according to this healthy food pyramid ,they said we should eat 50% whole grains food daily .they said we should eat rice brown i.e. Ofada rice - 6 to 9 plates daily ,soy beans 6 to 9 plates daily and wheat bread - 124 slices daily .the second most important classes of food for healthy living is 30 % fresh fruit and vegetable .the third one is 15% protein daily while the last class of food is just 5% carbohydrates that our body needs but today we are not eating the way it should be .we have turned the healthy food pyramid upside down we are now eating 80% of carbohydrates which is fat and sugar -they are food like bread, rice, yam ,pap, eba , .et.c we only manage to eat fruit and vegetable which over 90 % of the nutrient has lost before they finally get to us .for example we are supposed to take orange from the tree and wash it drink the water ,the seed in it ,and also eat the shaft together ,why is it so ? The seed in it is what works against fever sickness , the shaft works for back pain . Today most of what we are eating are carbohydrates which in excess turn to glucose ,from glucose to sugar and excess of sugar which are mostly found in our food will turn to diabetes ,and diabetes is the gateway to other chronic diseases like stroke ,hypertension , heart attack ,eye problem among others . Today most of what eat are processed , refined ,junk food which add no nutrient into our body system but damages the over 73 trillions of cells in our body, out of which over 50,000 dies every day according to scientific advisory board .instead of feeding our cells with total nutrient which is their food ,we are damaging them daily with what we consume like bread which has that harmful bro made but which they will write bro made free on the label to deceive consumer,they are water that is purified and preserved with harmful chemical called chlorine which we are drinking together and we do not know, they are our nutrients-less fruit and chemical iced drinks we take every day .for example those fruits are brought to lagos unripe so that it will not get spoilt ,however when they bring them here they will add very harmful cambad to make it ripe artificially and those cambad has already sinked into our mangos,banana ,but because we do not see them we do not know. In the olden days our parents use natural seasonings like Ogiri,iru-locust beans to sweeetening their food but today we are using all these food seasoning that contain some harmful and damaging substance,you know the popular saying;an apple a day keep the doctor away. yes if the apple is naturally preserved and has not lost it nutrient all the way from southAfrica,this explain why those apple changes colour inside while you are still eating it. The list is endless . This is not to condemn all these food ,but to be watchful of what and how we are eating since over 80% of sicknesses,diseases,and short life span are as a result of those harmful substance included in our refined and junk food (lack of nutrients which damages our cell on a daily basis and reduces our life span) while the remaining 20% are as a result of our environment ,then i think it is a wise decision to start watching what get into our mouth and body including those harmful chemicallised drug which addresses short time ailment and causes long time but silent injury in our body .so what is the way out of all these modern day civilisation and technology induced health problem?
