SANCTO: My fellow Nlanders, God is the ultimate in terms of getting a good Job. I got my own Job exactly 9 months after my POP. Initially I was worried because among my friends, I was the only one left without Job some months after my POP. It was when I realized that my future is in God's hand and that idleness is sin that I ran back to God while doing a teaching job at one private school at Port Harcourt. With wage bill of 10k per month,out of which i pay monthly rent of 3k and I survived with the rest.

To cut the long story short, the miracle happened on the 23rd of December 2008. When my name appeared on the dailies. This was the beginning of my divine turn around.

Am earning a fat salary, bought a car and bought a land at the choicest part of the town.

I want to use this medium to advise job seekers not to depend on uncles' promises because this nearly ruined my life.

After my NYSC, I decided not to go back to the village. I rented an apartment at PH. stay in the city because there are more opports there dan villa.

Also challenge God by sowing seed (if you believe) and blessing the poor so that you come out of poverty.

i believe so much in sowing seeds nd d trauma of being jobless smtimes make u withdraw into urself.i was also a victim of promises from pple nd i relied so much on it such dat wen it failed,i was really hurt.i believe God will do it very soon.

It took me 27 months to get a job in the bank and now am out job again!

I finished nysc february 2010 and resumed my first job on the 5th of march. Like lots of people have said, the guy should try and learn something that will fetch him little money for now till something better comes. The salary i earned as a fresh graduate was a big slap to my face when i compared is to what my colleagues with better jobs were earning. But i had to accept the job offer because it was better than sitting at home doing nothing. Another thing again is experience; most companies will look out for people with certain levels of experience while some will train their fresh employees. So if the guy gets a job that isn't well paying, let him accept and manage is for the experience he will gain cos that experience is what will fetch him a better paying job.

My boss earns 15- 20k daily, he is a school cert. holder. you can do better. I never knew tailors and other artesans make such money. u can teach and enrol in a trade. you will never regret it and nobody can take it away from you.

However, within a year, I'd changed 3 jobs each one bigger than the other. Now I think I am in one of the biggest jobs ever but I plan to stay here for only 18 months then I relocate to Canada. Thank you.

I was fortunate I got my first job barely 4weeks after my graduation ceremony while my friends were waiting for service. I was fortunate I had served while in school because I was running 2 programs and I finished one before the other.

Got job two and a half months after NYSC service!

Finished my NYSC february this year, and I'm presently in GTBank's training school as a graduate trainee. I believe its grace sha, even I never to I'd have it dis easy. Wait on the Lord, he'll grant you wats best for you. Cheers!

Dude all I can say is pray and fast and be prepared so when the opportunity comes you are favoured by the Almighty. I got my first job one year post NYSC, but before then I did chevron,total,UBA,First bank,NNPC,British Gas,NLNG test and interview but was not successful. I was just 21 years old then. I was determined to be successful because I know I had God and I am so brilliant by his grace. I felt like a failure a failure after all this opportunity.
A friend invited me over to Bonny Island for a visit, while in bonny island a job opening came up and I sent in my application. I was shortlisted for test, I passed the test by God's favour and subsequently passed the interview and I landed my first Job 2 weeks after working as a project/interface engineer on a shell project. One thing God was preparing me all this while, the position I was offered was way above my experience, I am more of a technical savvy dude.
From that humble beginning, I have worked in major oil and gas serving company,EPC company and I did work with Exxon mobil as well but I am now based abroad working as a consultant subsea pipeline engineer with the leading subsea pipeline specialist company globally.

Dude your time would come, but be prepared and also pray a lot for God's favour and uncommon blessing. When I look back at my beginning I just keep thanking God for his mercies.

POP, july 2009, first job june1 2011. Time and chance bring jobs but make sure you have been applying. Pray, for God has plans for us all.

I thought the idea was to encourage folks who are still searching. . .but most of the responses, though cheery, are quite depressing to some who are yet to have it good.

Well. After graduation, waited 6 months before going for NYSC. . . .and after NYSC, waited 2 months for my first job. I've changed jobs twice since then.

It took me 1 year, but within the 1yr i was helping my cousin in his supply biz so i started real job search after six month. I got my first job but the pay was vry low 30k but i took it for the sake of experience. I move to the 2nd one after two month but the pay was still nothing 35k, but the company was a good one where i can gain experience n boost my CV. I move to the 3rd one after 8month but the pay was still small 65k, just because i notice that in my previous job, yearly salary increament was vry poor, and for you to grow there you may have to spend like 10yrs n if you want to make it, you have to indulge in illegal way of making money in the company through stealing n other means, so i decided to leave cos i cant wait till around 10yrs n i cant start doing illegal thing. I later leave my third job after 1yr to another coy salary still not ok 80k and i worked there for 9month, Finally am in this present one now, salary is ok though not my final destination cos i know very soon i will be in oil coy. @ poster, it depends on what ur friend is looking out for, tell him to start frm somewhere, any little thing. In btw no man no man, no God father, All glory belong to GOD ALMIGHTY for helping me this far.

"Nice paying" is relative. Some people have been working for 3yrs an still earning below 50k.

You could get one now and earn far more.

Just find something to do now.

You didn't go to school just to get a job. U are educated to positively impact your environment and change the world.

Please find something u can lay ur hands on and "just do it"
