There's great tension right now in Anambra State University, Uli, Campus following the continued sending out of students from the Exam hall for not paying there school fees. Trouble began when some students of d engineering department were beaten by d school's anti-cult squad(a.k.a MPIAWAZU) for sneaking into the exam hall without paying their school fees. This angered their fellow colleagues who were still outside and they started throwing stones at the anti-cult squad. Other students from other depts later joined and d anti cult men where pursued out of the school premises. They later went and called the anti riot MOPOL from Ihiala. As I write this the trouble still rages as the students have destroyed the anti cult office in the V.C's office and and students have stopped all ongoing exams and pursued the lecturers from the exam halls... No body knows if the exams will still continue tomorrow. We'll just wait and see. This report is written by a 300L student of the Computer Science department. |

Situation Update... Yes d Students Affairs Unit was burnt yesterday night. Now b4 U cross d skool gate U MUST show ur students Id card and Skool fees receipt. |

The entire students who participate in this reckless disdain and their supporters are all insane.how would you be studing in a university without paying tutition fee,do u guys mean salaries wouldnt be paid,what about logistics, how do u guys intend to broke a university.how do you feel when u become established in the future and you managed to setup a firm while somebody refuse to pay you for a service rendered what will you do? 3 Likes |

This matter is one which can be resolved peacefully!! Unical went rioting because of smiliar issue but their's seems to be worst than this!!the simple question going thru my mind is "why didnt you pay your fees before exam date??" Gone are those days when you could go to school on credit and pay when you'r about to get your certificate!!let's reason well!! Riot is not the best option!! Wots d fuction of your SUG president?? |

Its like Nigeria students all want to be praise that they do aluta or whatever! two fcbk friends was arguing the other day that the other guy school isnt good enuff cos they dint do aluta, he even went ahead posting pictures of him nd friends destroying some school properties! These are same youth that will kill tomorrow cos of mere religious thing or politics (violence already in them.) why not organise urselves with placard and say ur motive or try the court or even try another means to get what you want before violence.Now you start destroying ur own things and think its cool, tomorrow you will expect ur school to be rank with americans/ghana/japan schools! nonsense keep living in violence and think its the way, the worst is that you re on fault! not paying ur school fees! its really pathetic dat students destroy properties to protest their non payment of school fees. Hhhmm, evrytin absurd and silly happens in nija. See our youths of 2day, leaders of 2moro. Now i knw derz no hope 4 ds country! Haw much is d fees? If it was too high, why not protest against it be4 examz or atleast wen d time table wx out. Is ther a students union govt. In that skul? Wht about anambra state students association, arent they doin anytin abt wht is hapenin in their imediatea constituency? To fight in support of my own illegal act or ommision... Anyway civil disobedienc can be justified if d fees is to high, so let know d figurs! |

OP Sharap ya mouth...Sometimes i wonder what kind of hamlet you crawled out from,i know it's a pigsty,but it beats me where it's located...WHY WOULD YOU GUYS RIOT because you guys were sent out of halls for non payment of fees?...Do u think d university runs as a charity foundation?Others that paid r they stupid?If d fees were 'too' high,u guys would have suggested half payment per semester...Rather than either losing months at home due to school locked down,or instant carry over and hell yeah,you'd still pay that same fee...I hope you have 2extra years after u mates have graduated...It beats my imagination when a delusioned few would want to drag everybody backwards with them..*now,if u r in solidarity wit them,which of course u r,then you're a shame.If u r not...Ignore d above post...#no offence intended,just putting my view in d best way possible 1 Like |

For those who are justifying d sending out of students 4rm exam hall b'cos of skool fees,I av one question 4U.If U are a finalist n for some reason COMPLETELY beyond ur help U cud nt PAY ur skool fees n U were sent out. Do U knw dat means Automatic EXTRA YEAR n at d end of it all,U'll still be expected to pay d fees even after it had cost u an EXTRA year... 4rm my own point of view, its nt fair n its nt right. After all U'll still pay all outstanding fees b4 ur clearance. |

ANSU students haven't really acted like their heads are rightly screwed on. 1. You received lectures without paying fees. You want to write exams for free too. It's your birthright. Schools run on charity now, innit? Lecturers can be paid from the inexhaustible reserves of the state. So you were aggrieved and went beserk. Nice. 2. You were angry, but the bulging veins in your forehead and neck didnt make it apparent enough. You had to set a building ablaze. Well, you tried. You made your point. Cheers. Left to me, if the defaulters had quitely moved out when asked to(seems they had to be forced), things wouldnt be this way. Next time, pay your fees when due. SMH. There are sacrificies you should make as undergraduates; how many of your mates have thought of doing menial jobs while studying or even on vacation? I bet 0.01%. I paid my fees from first to final year without any family support. What if you get expelled for protesting after 4 or 5years? Think twice...EXTRA year is not the end of the world. It will only spur you to work harder, pay your fees and move on to a higher level. |
