First of, beef is part of the rap culture. Second, widening your market and increasing your sales is every rappers dream.
On both, mode9's done nothing unusual.

However, dissin others in one album and then retracting in the next is a no-no. Either you do or you don't. Or you just come out and apologise! He shouldn't retract, and he shouldn't use commercialising as a reason to do so.

As for his album. Well, I'm no hater. But the album "One, " is I feel has too many like-sounding tracks (20 or more?!) and could have been better put-together.

If you're gonna put out a naija rap album with 14 tracks or more, take a cue from Gino's "Pain Plus WorK".
Non-commercial, but a great piece of work.

Hope all the brouhaha helps Mode9 sell CD's!
