AN OPEN LETTER TO PARENTS ON CHILDRENS DAY.

Hurray!!! It's another Children's Day Celebration. A day specially set aside to celebrate and appreciate the children on this entire universe.

Children are the Perfect gift from God, so lovely, adorable and tender. Always innocent looking and practically gets away with almost anything as one easily has empathy for them.

Every child ALL over the world deserves a wonderful treatment as they didn't force their way into this world. The decision was amicably agreed (or otherwise) between two parties (the man or the woman).

The Holy Books Quran and Bible also advice us to train our children towards the path of God so that they can be a source of joy to us both today and in the future. It reminded us never to spare the rod in order to spoil the child, but also advice to correct with so much love. It is widely believed that Charity begins at home and expected Children should be well groomed from the home front before being introduce to the outer world. I.e, School, Neighborhood and Religious home.

Due to the "Computer Age" of the 21st Century, most of those advice and believe have all gone down the drainage. It is now the Computer, Mobile Phone, Internet, Cable Tv, Radio and their fellow peers that give them their first grooming, while parents are left to either mould them a bit or take a back seat and watch their once precious child live by trainings he got from the outer world.

In some cases, parents now find it archaic for their children to greet an elder person by saying "Good morning sir/ma", they have come to the conclusion that its rather civilized and more sounding to say "hi uncle or hello aunty" instead.

In some homes, children are free to scold their parents when they are displeased with them, words like "Daddy, don't be silly" isn't anywhere offensive in the ears of the parents.

School children are now permitted to wear skimpy wears to school, as most school now say "a child should dress just the way they want to express themselves" for better learning and accimilation .

Watching of Pornography and singing of vulgar and immoral songs are only mildly handled if such a child is unfortunate to be caught by his or her parents.

It was once believed that only adults could molest a child sexually, but few days ago, the world woke up to a shocking video of a Nigerian girl of barely 14years being intimate with a little boy of barely 4years. From those who watched the video, they attested to one fact that not only was the girl already a professional even at little her age, but both herself and the boy enjoyed the act. As they were all smiles all the wide the act lasted.

In order to cut an "unending story" short. Without totally trying to throw blames at Parents, Teachers and the Society at large for the down throding morals and societal values are turning out to be, but rather reflect on the words of God Almighty and advice all parties to Go back to the days when the fear of God was instilled to children irrespective of their age.

Those were the days when a girl was scared to have sex with a boy even though they were both all alone, a guy refuses to be lured into alcohol and smoking by his peers, pornography was made to be seen as a taboo, cheating, stealing and fraud were totally rejected and unacceptable by children and so many others.

"Training is an investment". Good or Bad, the child's behavior tomorrow will tell how well we invested in him or her, not only them turning out better tomorrow, but also guaranteeing how Happy we will be.

Religious studies should be made compulsory just like Mathematics and English Language as it was some years back as this will keep helping to instill good morals in children.

I hope Parents and Yet to be Parents realize that the perfect of Old ages is one in which your children gives you and the society at large absolutely rest of mind, that can only happen by giving the children the best of training today in order to enjoy a peaceful tomorrow.

Once again to all the wonderful kids out there, HAPPY CHILDRENS DAY!!!
