First phone was seen in the back seat of a taxi cab at oju ore in ota. The phone started ringing and confusion struck as we didnt even know what to press to receive the call,kept pressing rubbish as the call was incessant. (presumably from the owner)

Eventually the battery was exhausted and the owner never got it back.

Sheer ignorance.

Then mum bought me motorola in 2006 for 20k and a glo sim for 250. lol

I bougth my Nokia 3310 at the rate of N18,000 and the sim for N6,000.I can remember vividly that i made a lot of money back then in 2002. I was regulating the price at which i make to my customers. Funny enough some customers would receive call with my phone they will still pay me N20.

Line was around 20,000 at the time (Econet), but we won when we bought our DSTV decoder back then. So we just bought a phone - Ericsson R320.

I spents weeks trying to get data into it using the Infrared Port.....

Trust na,i waited until it became cheap.I bought my first phone,sagem my x-7 at 18k and the line was about 2 -3k.the was so loud that one of my friends nicknamed it 'volume box'.lol

The phone would ve been stolen the day I bought it if not that I removed it from the box and put in my pocket, the box was snatched in computer village ikeja on 15th December 2002. The thief only made away with the box, charger and manual.

Mum bought me my first phone in 2004..one cute sagem phone like that,polyphonic ringtone and colour screen .I was the first amongst my friends to use a brand new phone..most of them got a pass down phone.Dont know the cost of the phone but my sim(MTN) was #13,000.

I bought my 1st phone (Bird series) for N8500 and the sim for N1500 in Feb, 2005. I almost lost the phone same day and I remembered telling my roommates that my younger sister and I blackmailed our parents we were not going back to school without a phone so they had to buy us our phones that morning.

I can remeber making a minute call for 60 Naira back then in 2002/2003.
Bought my Nokia 1100 for 32,000 Naira.
MTN sim was 28,000 Naira.
We were charged by minutes and not by seconds.

dont 4get the days when call centers use pole and antenna 2get signals or when u need climb an upstair building or a tree in ur village when u are expecting or about to make a call.
sometimes, u hv to pay for calls u recieved in a call center.

Guy take am easy it was not that expensive in those years (2002-2003). MTN sim was about 15k I bought mine for 10k because of a promo. Even the Nokia 1100 you mentioned was not that expensive either.

That fat nokia with antenna, i used that phone for a year and my muscle in my right hand developed more than the left hand cos that phone big die like skyscrapper! Lol, i was just so proud to be in exclusive club of phone owner i no send, i treasure the dumbbell die!

When phone came out newly and popsie vexed and bought for himself and mom. They came to King's College to visit me, na so people see say BOTH my parents dey use Nokia 3310 Oboy, they made me SUG president immediately!

i first used Mtel. Cant remember for how much but i still can remember tracing networks all around, they almost made a kolomental out of people. later switched to MTN gotten for N2500.00 and my first phone was a samsung R210 blueface bought for N5000. all na story now, life is in stages but make sure U have a good story to tell.
