I spend quite a bit of time in Akure so I've seen it too.
The place is quite big but not as big as some of the auto/car places in Lagos. But the good thing is the organization/orderliness of the whole arrangement; everybody knows what is where and then its located somewhere a bit removed from the residential core of the town so it doesn't constitute a disturbance. I think it is a laudable initiative.

This is great. I'm not from the Southwest but it makes me proud to be a Nigerian. We need more of such innovative revenue generating development projects from both the public and private sector.2 Thumbs up.

I have stayed in Akure for over 3years, eventhough I am not a fan of ACN or PDP, Iroko spends money on false projects, the Akure car dealers are lamenting cos they have to pay rent on the shops at the automart which stands at an 500% increase compared to what they were paying whilst in the town. Please try not to create the impression that the project is free, Mimiko's projects come at high costs to the populace, apart from the free health care, even market women pay N3000 for unroofed market stalls. Please note that the Automart comes as a source of increased revenue to the Govt and not as a dividend of democracy as purported. I would like anyone to mention a particular project (i.e. road or water) which mimiko has completed in his tenure, he has them all as uncompleted, just to camouflage.

Thank you very much and God bless you. One thing I am sure of is; he can't succeed fooling all Ondo state indigenes and residents with this wasteful and exploitative projects of his. Enough of his doings, we are OK and we want to be an Apostle of a single term cos that's what he made us believe. He said and I quote, " a single term is enough for a serious minded Governor to execute his transformation agenda if he is not greedy". So, if he is not greedy too, then it's high time he left. We are not ready to suffer for four years cos I am sure he has nothing to offer in his second term it his first term is a show of wasteful spending and over-inflated projects. Imagine a bustop for #5million, Three bungalow building Hospital for #800million, Fountain for #125million ( even though it was done for the state free by an international body ), The Automart we are talking about cost #450million ( for those of you that has visited the place, is it worth that price ).
Be informed that that he has nothing to show for #2billion OSOPADEC fund from NDDC. I am not in support of any of this gubernatorial aspirants but he should just go and leave Alagbaka seat for somebody else.

As far as I am aware, I want to analyze his maradona tactics
1. Arakale, Owo and Ondo Road Projects: These have remained uncompleted for over 3 years, the question is, why did he have to demolish the buildings, initiate the construction of all the roads at a time, why did he not concentrate and complete one of them, campaign strategy I guess.

2. Neighborhood Market: May be someone needs to tell him to release the hijacked funds to the chairmen of the local govts to complete this< as I have never seen a state where Governors build open roof stalls, paint them orange and count that as achievements.

3.Mother and Child free health (Commendable)

4. Alagbaka Waterfalls ( cost of maintenance gulps a major part of the budget, besides, this is supposed to be at a recreation resort not along the main road, ironically, i have never seen pipeborne water in FUTA and Ijoka where I live, and Mimiko prefers to waste the water as recreation, soon people will go and be fetching water from the water falls.

5. What happened to the pedestral bridge at Oja, why did he repaint it as Orange, to deceive people that he constructed it I guess.
6. The BRT bus stops nko? I am yet to see the buses and he claimed billions for this as well, BRT for Akure>>> I dey laugh o

Although, Ondo people have suffered in the hands of bad governors in times past, we shouldn't be deceived by Mimiko's Maradona politics, I personally detest voting people in for 2nd term as they do not do anything in the 2nd tenor, are we now saying that we are ok with what he has done so far? can these sustain us for the next 4 yrs cos he is not gonna do anything in the 2nd term.

U really have a BIG problem..u have been so misinformed..Take it or leave it..the man is a success in life! Apart from being a politician, he is medical doctor whc is enough for him to live comfortably..how many medical doctors have u produced in your family??..
Re: Akure International Auto Market: - ‘the Cotonou’ In Ondo: by topazjosh(m): 8:26pm On Jul 16, 2012
Donno y somone will compare a car mart in ondo with car mart in mega city like lagos, population determines how customer will patronise certain business,u can't expect d govt to build a very large mart like berger for a small city like akure.
Re: Akure International Auto Market: - ‘the Cotonou’ In Ondo: by omotbol: 11:27am On Jul 17, 2012
let people for once use their oblongatas. the reason for building this mart was to remove displayed tokunboh cars from akure's major roads. now oba adesida road up to oyemekun is as free as ever. that makes it a lofty idea, simple.
