University Admission time is an hectic period in a student life. You are faced with another level of responsibility, you are left on your own to make things happen or you roast away. This is the time you need direction most.

After the post Utme examinations and screening, you finally await the results and then the results are out and favorable. You await the cut-off marks and the admission list. What should you be doing at this time, while the drama plays out?

The days that lie between June to October are tense times for everyone involved in the University admission processes in Nigeria. University aspirants (hopefuls) all over the country are waiting to hear from their top school of choices.

While the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges are busy flipping through files and making the final decisions on whom to admit, Wilfred (the first student consultant in Nigeria) has gone ahead to figure out what the aspirants are expected to be doing. The "don'ts" not left behind!

Here are some tips to keep you from going nuts and taking others with you:

Monitor events in your school:

Detect Opportunities and take them:
While you wait, be smart. If you see any opportunity from other schools, take it. Don't be lazy, help your parents in their business or chores at home. That will make them to care for you when you eventually get into school.

Get your documents ready:
It is expected that you have passed one or more of NECO, WAEC or NABTEB as s proof that you successfully passed the number 3, of the 6-3-3-4 education system in Nigeria. Your school of choice will demand for the O'level result/certificate immediately they admit you. They will need to see your Original JAMB result slip, Local Government/State of Origin Certificate, Birth card/Age declaration/Birth Certificate, etc. Get these documents and keep them handy to avoid delays when you are eventually called up by your choice school. Stay informed for supplimentary admission:
when your school is selling supplementary admission forms, Immediately after merit admission is supplementary. During supplementary admission application, candidates can apply for courses they did not originally choose in a particular school.

Look at for scholarships:

Many students dont take advantage od scholarships that they need to get through schools. You need to start looking for such opportunities, they are everywhere. Some organizations are dedicated to helping young students achive their aims. enrol for such, apply for thema and ask around.
Check your state bursary board if they have opportunities for their students, many from NIGER delta has this fund, but some student never make use of this.
