The African union is introducing a common passport that will allow visa free access to all 54 member states. Superseding existing national documents.

The electronic passports will be unveiled at the AU summit in Kigali, Rwanda, later this month, where they will be issued to heads of state and senior officials. The Union aims to distribute them to all African citizens by 2018.

African Union Director for Political Affairs Dr. Khabele Matlosa believes easing access restrictions for travel within the continent will reduce the number of people embarking on dangerous migration routes.

In his words:

''Opening borders will have a profound effect for workers at the lower end of the scale.
"We have a problem now that young people are risking their lives to cross the Sahara Desert or travel on boats to Europe, If we open opportunities in Africa we reduce that risk."

According to a United Nations new report, If we continue on our current trajectory, we'll only have 60% of the water we need in 2030.

The world will only have 60% of the water it needs by 2030 without significant global policy change, according to a new report from the U.N.

While countries like India are rapidly depleting their groundwater, rainfall patterns around the world are becoming more unpredictable due to global warming, meaning there will be less water in reserves. Meanwhile, as the population increases, so does demand for potable water, snowballing to a massive problem for our waterways in 15 years’ time.

The report suggests several changes of course that nations can take, from increasing water prices to finding new ways of recycling waste water.

Came across this article on Business Insider and I love highlighting people especially blacks making a name for themselves doing what they love to do. Marques Brownlee is just 20 years old, but there’s arguably no one better on the internet when it comes to explaining new technologies to the average consumer. Even former Google VP Vic Gundotra called him "the best technology reviewer on the planet right now."

YouTubers have taken notice of the young man: Brownlee's YouTube channel "MKBHD" has more than 1.5 million subscribers and nearly 130 million total views on his 640-plus videos.

Still, he’s no overnight success: Brownlee has been working tirelessly for more than five years, honing his craft by constantly producing and self-critiquing his videos to make the next ones easier to both make and watch. But despite all of the work involved, “MKBHD” is, was, and will always be a solo effort.
“When I first started making the videos, I didn’t tell anyone about it,” he said in an interview with Business Insider. “Not [my family], not anyone. But after a while it was something that was pretty obvious, since I was making a whole bunch of videos … I just didn’t necessarily feel like telling people about what I was researching.”


Brownlee, a senior at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, said he always had a love for technology. His dad works in technology — information systems and programming, specifically — but Brownlee’s interests were more centered on consumer electronics, starting with computers and some of the old camcorders his parents had around. He said his first computer was a Dell desktop with a “big old 15-inch CRT monitor.”
“It was kind of a background hobby; I didn’t have a reason to tell anyone when I first started making the videos,” he said.
When he entered high school, Brownlee said, he wanted to buy a laptop for school, so he researched various computers and watched tutorials on “how to do cool tricks and customizations.” And simply by watching others' tutorials, Brownlee felt encouraged to make some tutorials of his own with some simple screencasting software.

Still, it would take a while to build an audience.
“It was super slow. The first few videos, there were no comments and no views,” he told BI. “But eventually, once someone would comment on the video, they asked about other things I could share.”
Brownlee started to gain a small following by answering users’ questions with his own handmade videos. By the time he reached his 100th video, he had only 78 subscribers. But Brownlee’s operation was not what it is today, and still very much a work in progress.
“Back then, it was all one take,” he said. “So when I’d make a video, I’d open the software, press record, talk two or three minutes to explain whatever I needed to explain, and I’d just stop and upload it to YouTube. That was it.
“I could make multiple videos in a day, but now, the videos are much more elaborate.”
Brownlee currently produces several different types of videos. He’s got his reviews, explainers, and impressions, but he’ll also throw in some special features and “advanced projects.” But with every video, a great deal of research is involved before Brownlee ever starts filming.
As with most consumers, he’ll unbox the product and start forming impressions on it. Over the course of a week or so, he’ll jot down various talking points to include in his video. But from the moment he turns on the camera and hits record, “it’s probably less than 48 hours before that video is online.”

These days, Brownlee uses a Sennheiser microphone and a Canon lens, and he edits using the Adobe suite, but he says the list of equipment he uses changes every few months.
“I’m just picky about certain things in the videos, so I’m always switching out things that look or sound better,” he said. “These are things behind the scenes that people may never notice, but it makes the workflow easier.”
According to Google Trends, Brownlee's videos only recently started gaining traction among the internet faithful — around the time of Gundotra's G+ post, actually. But when asked about his personal favorite MKBHD video, he said a couple of “milestone” videos stood out, including a video he made for a contest hosted by Wrapsol, in which he won the $1,000 first prize, and his LG G Flex scratch test video, “because it was something I thought of that literally no one else would do. If you got that phone for 30 days to review, you’d never take a knife to it and see if it heals itself. But when I bought the phone I decided immediately I’m going to take a knife to it,” he said with a laugh.

Brownlee's successful video business keeps growing — he said the money he makes from his YouTube channel, which is powered by Google Adsense, more than makes up for his production costs. But he said
“it’s definitely hard” to balance his various works, with school and his videos and everything in between. This balance was tougher to achieve in high school, which took up most of his time “in terms of pure hours in class.”
While it's never been easy for Brownlee to find time to make his videos, at least in college, Brownlee has a bit more flexibility in his schedule compared with high school — even as he majors in business and technology with concentrations in marketing and information systems.

When asked about his plans after college, Brownlee said he would “definitely keep making videos as long as they’re fun to make.”

“But having a degree,” he said, “I went so far with school, so I might as well just finish. Getting my degree is something I’ll be really happy about. I’ll wing it from there.”

REASONS WHY YOUR VAGINA MIGHT HAVE AN ODOUR


1. Watch out for infections and diseases. These are the major causes of serious vaginal odor. Examples of such infections and diseases include yeast and bacterial infections (the most common causes), STIs, STDs, or viruses like herpes. Even much more serious problems like some kinds of cancer or internal ruptures can cause vaginal odor. You will need to monitor your body for other signs of illness and if you really feel that your vaginal odor is unnatural, see your doctor.[1] One thing to look out for are unusual discharges from your vagina. Brown, green, or chunky white discharges are signs of infection and you should go see your doctor as soon as possible. Just remember that some discharge is normal and healthy but it should not smell.

2). Be aware that certain sexual practices cause vaginal odor. Any introduction of foreign bacteria can upset the delicate balance in your vagina and so sexual practices can have an effect. Certain practices in particular can set off a reaction, namely anal sex before vaginal sex, MouthAction, and the use of objects or food as penetrative methods. If you wish to engage in these practices, use protection (like a condom) and change it in between activities.

3). Check for foreign objects. Foreign objects lodged in the vagina will cause your body's immune response to react and try to attack the object. This can cause bad odor as well. Tampons that have been forgotten or left in for too long, pieces of a broken condom, or objects used in sexual play are examples of such causes for odor.

4). Be careful to practice proper hygiene. Improper hygiene can lead to a buildup of bacteria around your vagina. This will cause odor, though it may not necessarily cause an infection. If you want to reduce odor, keep yourself and your clothing clean.

5). Avoid hot baths and hot tubs. Surrounding your vagina with overly hot water will kill much of your body’s natural bacteria which preserves the delicate balance of your vagina. Avoid sitting in very hot water too frequently or for too long.


SOLUTIONS:

1). Use perfume: Yes, using perfume close to your vagina is a bad idea. However, putting a dab of perfume on the inside of each of your thighs, roughly six inches from the vaginal area, is a time-honored way to smell amazing when anyone puts their head down there.

You partner will associate musky smells with sex (since this is the type of smell you have naturally) so try to get a perfume which is generally musky. Sandalwood and vanilla are common “sexy” smells.

2). Watch your diet: Your diet can greatly affect your taste and smell. Certain foods tend to affect your body in certain ways, by altering your body’s balance of sugar, bacteria, and chemical compounds. Much like how if you eat a lot of garlic, your skin excretes a garlic smell for several days, you can eat or not eat certain foods to produce a better smell and taste in your vagina.
You’ll want to start by eating less sugar. A spike in blood sugar can cause yeast infections and buildup, which will cause bad odor.
3). Eat pineapples:Though there is no scientific evidence, many people swear by the idea that pineapple improves both taste and smell for both genders.


4). Yogurt is considered to be a great way to help women keep a healthy vagina, as it contains the bacteria which naturally occurs in our body to maintain a healthy vagina.


5). Try shaving or trimming: Having pubic hair does not necessarily cause odor in that area, but it can create an environment that harbors bacteria if not cleaned properly. If you want to reduce the likelihood of this being a problem, you can shave your pubic hair or keep it cut short. Keeping it cut short is probably better, however, as stubble can cause skin irritation and invite infections (plus it is itchy and uncomfortable).


6). Wash regularly: You will need to shower and wash yourself regularly. How often that needs to be will depend on your body because everyone is different. However, you will probably need to wash at least every two or three days. Washing yourself will help combat a buildup of bacteria on the skin, which causes odor just like it does anywhere else on the body.

7). Use the correct soaps. Your vagina is very sensitive. Using the wrong types of soap can cause irritation and bad odor. Avoid soaps which are heavily perfumed, contain too many unnatural ingredients, or have antibacterial properties. These upset the natural balance of your body. Instead, use natural soaps which are labeled as being fragrance-free.
Your vagina is the most sensitive part of your body and you shouldn’t wash it with regular soap. Buy a special intimate wash with neutral Ph value – 5.5. (Fem Fresh is a good example). Wash with the intimate wash at least once a day.


.Don’t douche. The only time you should douche (wash out the inside of your vagina) is if your doctor tells you to. Douching creates a terrible imbalance of your body’s natural bacteria and will almost guarantee that you end up with some kind of infection. The only cleaning that you will need to do will be with basic soap and water on the outside of your body.


9). Wipe carefully: Incorrect wiping after using the toilet can lead to infections. Wipe in the correct direction (Using the tissue, wipe front to back) and be sure that you are thorough. It is easy to miss the vaginal area and this can leave residue which leads to infections or overgrowth of bacteria

10). Use products carefully: Be careful about the products that you use around your vagina. Using lubricants that are not water or silicone based can cause infections, and you should always clean lube off once you’re done using it. Anything with heavy fragrance can cause infections easily, so avoid feminine products which aim to make your vagina smell like flowers. This includes lotions.

11). Wear clean, fresh, correct underwear: This is a very important part of keeping your vagina clean and healthy. Wearing the same set of underwear for more than 24 hours will quickly create an imbalance of bacteria. You will also want to wear the right type of underwear. Your underwear needs to breath, since an overly moist environment will cause bacterial buildup. Cotton is best.


12). Eat lots of Fruits: Theories state that what you eat is what your vagina would smell/taste like. The sources that claim this theory works, say that your food has a high chance in determining how your coochie tastes. For instance it states that a high consumption of pineapple would make your coochie taste like pineapple juice and a high consumption of berries would make your coochie taste berry-like. Even though some other sources and countered this claim, what they have all come to agree on is that consumption of fruits make your vagina smell and taste fresh. Other food items includes anything fresh with natural juices and lots of water.

Fruits like pineapples, apples, celery, yogurt, red grapes, cranberry juice, mint, watermelon, strawberries. Basically, anything that grows that isn't smelly.


13). Smoking Wont Help: According to the anecdata, any food that can make you have weird farts, bad breath, or strong smelling pee should be avoided — beer, coffee, alcohol, asparagus, most dairy, onions, shallots, meat, and fish. And while smoking will make you cool, like cooler than you could ever manage on your own, smoking will make the taste of your body's juices turn sour or smell like ashtray or worse, like stale food.. If you already smoke and are about to defensively insist that your juices taste like peach nectar, just imagine how scrumptious you'd taste if you kicked the habit.


14). When you have your period, make sure you change your pads or tampons regularly.




15). Drink lots of WATER!


Tips
Even if you don’t like the way you or women in general smell, guys usually enjoy the smell. Their brains associate that smell with getting to see you naked and having sex. So it really isn’t in your interest to smell like flowers.

Sharapova obviously took offense to what Serena said and on Saturday, during her pre-tournament news conference at Wimbledon, she took a shot at Williams’ personal life and criticizing Williams comments over a high-profile teen rape case in Ohio.

"At the end of the day, we have a tremendous amount of respect for what we do on the court. I just think she should be talking about her accomplishments, her achievements, rather than everything else that's just getting attention and controversy," Sharapova said.

"If she wants to talk about something personal, maybe she should talk about her relationship and her boyfriend that was married and is getting a divorce and has kids," Sharapova continued. "Talk about other things, but not draw attention to other things. She has so much in her life, many positives, and I think that's what it should be about."

Williams has been linked to coach Patrick Mouratoglou, but neither has confirmed their relationship extends beyond the court. When Mouratoglou was asked about the topic at the French Open this month, he smiled and replied: "Sorry. I don't understand the question."

A mother in China is urging doctors to help her seven-month-old son, who was born with a three-inch-long “tail” that is still growing.

The boy, Xiao Wei, was born with spina bifida, a disorder in which the spinal column is not fully closed.

Xiao has a variant of the condition called myelomeningocele, in which the spinal cord protrudes, forming a sac that contains the spinal matter.

Mother Chen Wei, from China’s Guangdong province, said surgeons have told her they cannot simply remove the growth.




Surgeon Huang Chanping told news agencies: “The growth is quite well developed and now measures some 10 centimeters.

“If we cut it off, it will simply grow again. We need to repair the spinal canal first to stop it reoccurring.”





In addition to physical complications, children with spina bifida may have learning disabilities and are at higher risk for ADHD.

In most cases, doctors perform surgery during infancy to prevent brain damage and physical disability. Folic acid taken during pregnancy is recommended to prevent the condition.

About 1,500 babies are born with spina bifida in the United States each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I told you HERE about Anthony Chinedu, a rogue drug Lord, deported from Kenya and who is a Top Member of Nigerian Secret Service.

Since Chinedu was deported, the fate of 11 Kenyans who brought him back has remained unknown cos Chinedu and co detained them and the plane in Lagos and now, Kenyan national newspaper Nation is claiming that Chinedu is demanding for full payment of his investments in Kenya before he releases them.

Deported Nigerian Anthony Chinedu on Monday demanded full payment of his investments in Kenya before seven officials and a plane held at a Lagos airport are released.

New details are emerging on how Kenyan officials who accompanied Mr Chinedu and two other Nigerians deported two weeks ago spent the night in their aircraft because they were not allowed to leave.

Mr Chinedu, speaking to the Nation on phone from Leki Beach, Lagos, claimed: “I am the official of the government of Nigeria. The aircraft is now mine, it is waiting for me at the airport,” he said, adding: “All I want is my money, and without these guys being detained here, I won’t get my money. But you can rest assured they are safe, they are eating well.”

The Kenyans and a Swedish pilot — five crew and seven security and immigration officials — flew with the three Nigerians kicked out on drug trafficking claims to Lagos, but were not allowed to leave.

On Monday, one of the detained officials claimed they slept in the aircraft and ate spoilt food because they were considered illegal entrants. They contacted the High Commission when they realised the issue was getting out of hand.

“We were only allowed out in the evening the next day because embassy (Kenyan High Commission) officials had come in,” one of the officials said.

When contacted, an official at the Nigerian High Commission in Kenya said the group was currently staying at the Park View Astoria Hotel in the Ikoyi suburb of Lagos.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed said the matter was being handled, but declined to give more details.

Her Internal Coordination counterpart, Mr Joseph ole Lenku, under whose docket Immigration lies, said: These are delicate negotiations between the two countries. Until something comes out of it, we cannot give you the details. However, the government is doing everything it can.”

"Is there any way of getting confirmation about news I'm just getting that the Dana plane was distressed for a while but could not make an emergency landing because the airspace was closed for 2 hours for the Presidential Jet carrying Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan.

Private jet owners who had to hover in the air same time leaked this. This was apparently the reason local news didn't report the crash for so long till CNN and foreign news stations started reporting it.

Local news was 'blacked out' trying to kill the story of the airspace being closed while a distressed plane couldn't land..........I experienced the Patience Jonathan road blockage in lekki cos i went to buy groceries from jakande market, so i can authoritatively confirm she was in lagos and infact lekki. It would be shocking if so. Though there was engine failure there was still time for the plane to have landed apparently.

You do know anyway that the airspace is closed for up to 2hours each time the Presidential Jet needs to go into the air? 2 hours for a 15minute take off or landing!

Anyone living on the Lekki axis saw first hand the horrendous traffic caused by the president's wife's visit..and confirmed reports from airport staff who volunteered information, collaborated this fact, that the Lagos airport was actually shut for 2 hours, about the same time the ill fated Dana Plane crashed.

This also strongly explains the reason why Aero contractor airplane could not depart Abuja for Lagos at 3:40pm because of the closure of the Lagos airport. This is criminal and one can only imagine the deep sorrow ad-in-finitum (without limit) that the families of these unfortunate Nigerians and other nationals are currently plagued into. Grief that is so thick in the air, that one can cut through with a knife...rooted soul searching.
