Nigerian singer, Dammy Krane who got into a fight with Wizkid at Quilox in 2016, has disclosed that he has forgiven the Starboy Records boss.

Recall that it was alleged that the fight ensued after Dammy Krane claimed that Wizkid stole the song, Baba Nla, from him after paying him a visit at home.

Speaking on reconciling with Wizkid after they were pictured together this year, Dammy Krane said;

“Wizkid and I went to an event and from there we went out together. It was from there that we became friends again. I have forgiven him because it is just one song and we would still do songs together.

We would still do one or two things together but you need to understand that we are all getting to different stages of our lives.”

“I believe that my songs would last for a long time; they are all evergreen songs and ten years from now, I know that you would always hear Dammy Krane’s songs like Amin and Amen.”

Also speaking on his ‘beef’ with Orezi over a copied hairstyle, Dammy Krane disclosed that Orezi had apologised to him.

“If you know Dammy Krane very well, you would know that I joke with a lot of things but people tend to take them seriously.

I do not think we had any problems; only miscommunication. Orezi has already apologized to me because he understood that it was miscommunication. Everything that happened during that period was miscommunication,” he said.

On maintaining a relationship with Tuface since he left his record label, the singer said;

“I have a great relationship with Tuface and I have a learnt a lot from him. He is more like a mentor to me in the industry; I have learnt a lot about humility and hard work from him and he is also a God-fearing person. He taught me how to be a businessman as well.”

President Buhari Calls On Africans In The Diaspora To Come Up With Anti-corruption Measures

President Buhari today in New York called on Africans in the Diaspora to come up with suggestions on how to curtail the menace of corruption on the continent.

Addressing participants at the High Level Media Launch on “Illicit Financial Flows and the Fight against Corruption: Curbing the Existence of Safe Havens – the Role of Africans in the Fight against Corruption,” organised by the NEPAD/APRM Nigeria on the margins of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the President also enjoined them to support measures against “Safe Havens” for illicit financial outflows from Africa.

Male and Female Ritualists Arrested In Lagos With Human Body

The Lagos state police command have arrested two suspected ritualists, Folake Falade and Emmanuel Gbenga, at the Ijanikin area of the state.

A statement released by the police command’s spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, says Folake was found inside a tunnel, under the Cele Nicer Bridge, Ijanikin, Lagos with a decomposing human body.

The discovery attracted an irate mob which nearly lynched her but was saved by the quick intervention of a contingent of policemen drafted from Ijanikin Divisional Police Headquarter, who raced to the scene.

The rescue team thereafter searched the tunnel and arrested one Emmanuel Gbenga believed to be an accomplice of the female suspect while the third suspect who escaped from the tunnel to avoid being arrested was caught by an irate mob who set him ablaze.

Legal practitioners and civil society organizations have condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement at the opening ceremony of the Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Monday.

The President, in his speech, urged lawyers to put national security over and above the rule of law.

Reacting, Ebun-olu Adegboruwa, in a statement on Tuesday, said Buhari’s declaration was a great set back for Nigeria’s democracy and national development.

He wrote: “National Security has no definition, it has no limit; it is amorphous and panders to individual discretion. It is the rule of the Executive Arm of Government alone, being the one responsible for policy implementation and the determination of security imperatives.

“National Security It is the rule and decision of individuals, such as the Inspector-General of Police or the Commander in Chief. Such rules are always subject to manifest abuses, especially in respect of opposition politics. That has been the experience in Nigeria.

“On the other hand, the rule of law is defined, basic, predictable and even subject to review; it helps to predict and govern human conduct. The rule of law limits and interpose upon the rule of self all forms of arbitrariness and is thus preferable to the whims and caprices of individuals.

“The point of convergence with the President however is that those who have prima facie cases of any malfeasance should not deploy the rule of law to avoid liability, especially when it concerns plainly intolerable economic crimes.

In such a situation, what constitutes National Security and National Interest should still be determined through the due process of law.

“The daily narration of tales of mind-boggling abuses, under the past administration, should serve as some kind of discouragement, in elevating national security beyond the dictates of law.

In Nigeria presently, our collective wealth and resources are being pilfered by our leaders in the name of national security.

“To postulate that national security should override rule of law consideration may unwittingly portray one as harboring dictatorial intentions, for preferring national security as priority for governance.

“It is a dangerous proposition as we approach 2019. Taken to its proper interpretation, it may be taken to be an advance notice to the people of Nigeria, to brace up for likely threats to their rights and liberties, in the coming days.

“Whereas we all support the President in the fight against corruption and terrorism, it is still necessary to allow the rule of law to have the pride of place in all spheres of governance.

“I therefore humbly appeal to the President to accommodate the supreme law of our land, the Constitution, which already contains enough provisions to integrate national security within the due process of law.

“Nigeria itself as a nation, was created by law, the offices of the President and indeed all those saddled with the determination and preservation of national security, were all created by law. Thus, everybody and everything, can find their roots and bearings, under the rule of law.”

Also weighing in, the Citizens Advocacy for Social & Economic Rights (CASER) expressed disappointment at the president’s speech.

CASER’s Executive Director, Frank Tietie, said even during a war, there was still respect for the rule of law.

In a statement, he said at no time in any democratic country and the international community, is law, especially human rights, suspended.

“President Muhammadu Buhari cannot use national security or national interest to justify his government’s disobedience to orders of court directing it to either grant bail to specific citizens or commanding it to perform specific acts.

“The President was quick to cite the position of the Supreme Court in balancing national security and human rights or the rule of law but he has failed to recognise that it is only pronouncements from the courts that ultimately determine what is right or wrong. It is not the place of the government to determine what constitutes national security to warrant the disobedience of court orders.

“Rather it is the role of the courts to determine whether or not bail, for instance, should be granted to a citizen, having considerations to national security or national interest. The courts have so decided regarding the Dasuki. In the absence of a valid appeal, the government must comply to the directives of the court forthwith.

“There can no longer be any justifiable reason why the government would continue to keep Col. Sambo Dasuki in detention despite direct court orders granting him bail. The release of Col. Dasuki on bail cannot be plausibly shown to be of any threat to national security to the extent that the government would think the courts didn’t know what they had done by granting him bail.

“We should be ashamed as a country and a people since the liberty of just one man called Dasuki would constitute such a threat to national security to the extent that we would allow the government to begin a process of destroying the foundations of our democracy.

“Indeed, with all the arsenal of intelligence and organized force of Nigerian security agencies, it would be indeed shameful for a citizen like Dasuki, now an ordinary man, to pose such a threat and fear to the government. The government is even afraid to try him openly. It would therefore be wise for the government to make known to the courts and the Nigerian people what it really fears about Dasuki. He is just an ordinary man right now.

“Dasuki should be granted bail immediately because he is a citizen of Nigeria and more especially, the courts have so directed.

“President Buhari made the assertion on the derogation of the rule of law in a large gathering of lawyers. The influential lawyers present at the occasion did not seize the opportunity to correct the President by stating to him that law, especially as pronounced by the courts, is supreme....... Seven gunmen have been sentenced to death by an Ondo state High Court on Thursday sitting in Akure, the state’s capital.

The convicted armed robbers, who are to die by hanging, were said to be involved in the killing of an American-based businessman, Banji Adafin, who had return to Nigeria for vacation.

The seven young men: Jimoh Sodiq a.k.a Akamo, Blessing Ogunlade, Yomi Balogun a.k.a Regal, Oluwaseun Oluwalola a.k.a Iyan, Akeem Adedayo, Oso John Omoniyi a.k.a Bosco and Sodiq Babatunde were found guilty of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit murder and for illegal possession of firearms.

The court also sentenced to one-year imprisonment, the eighth offender, Damilola Samuel a.k.a Mama, who was the girlfriend of one of the convicts for allegedly aiding the culprit.

The armed robbery attack, which occurred on July 4, 2017, at No. 5 Temidire street, Muyiwa Oni Avenue along Akure\Owo expressway, Akure, led to the killing of the deceased in the presence of his wife, before carting away valuables.

In a four-hour judgement, the trial judge, Justice Samuel Bola held that the prosecuting counsel and officials of the Department of State Services, DSS, had proved beyond reasonable doubts that the seven men are culpable in the death of late Banji Adafin.

Justice Bola said the offenders committed the offences in contravention of the Robbery and Firearms Act, laws of the Federation (2004) and the Criminal Code, laws of Ondo state (2006).

In their reaction to the judgement, the defense counsels, Abdulrahman Yusuf and Samuel Aiyesa, said the judgement would be appealed after it was reviewed.

Meanwhile, the wife of the deceased, Abimbola Adafin, had during the trial, given a vivid description of how the armed robbers invaded their home and killed her husband.

“l was inside the bedroom with my husband and daughter when l heard Hannah Temitope (a relative) and Deborah Petti (a housemaid) suddenly scream at the top of their lungs which made me rush out of the bedroom to the living room,” she told the court.

“When I got to the sitting room, I saw why the two women screamed. They were held at gunpoint by two armed robbers.

“When I saw the armed robbers, I panicked and ran back to the room. Unknown to me, the armed robbers had gained access inside the house through the kitchen door.”

She told the court that when the housemaid screamed for help, she was threatened to keep quiet or else she would be shot, and was ordered to lie along with the family’s relative, while the armed robbers beat the women with an iron rod.

She testified further that the armed robbers took away 2 Samsung plasma television sets, her husband’s Samsung phone, one techno phone and an electric pressing iron.

A DSS official, Olajiri Fadipe, who also spoke in court, revealed that while six of the gunmen were actively involved in the armed robbery, the seventh accused person had supplied unlicensed firearms for the operation.

In her statement, Damilola Samuel had confessed that she was in a relationship with the second defendant, Blessing Ogunlade, which had made her do his bidding when he asked her to remove some incriminating items from his home.

Dr. Umar Faruq Umar, the Emir of Daura has declared that the people from President Buhari’s hometown are hungry and not getting enough from the Federal Government.
Umar stated this when he received the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Audu Ogbeh at his Daura palace, on Monday.

[b]Nigeria Imported 4.79 Billion Liters Of Petrol In Q2 2018 - NBS Reveals
[/b]Nigeria imported 4.79 billion litres of premium motor spirits (PMS), also called Petrol in the second quarter of 2018, according to the latest report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
A further breakdown of the petroleum products importation revealed that 1.11 bln litres of automotive gas
oil (AGO), 43.79 mln litres of household kerosene (HHK). The report said 200.39 mln litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) were imported into the country in Q2 2018.

It indicated that the months of April 2018 recorded the highest volumes of premium motor spirits (PMS) imported into the country at 1.78 bln litres while the highest volume of automotive gas oil (AGO) and household kerosene (HHK) were imported in June 2018.

The report showed that statewide distribution of truck-out volume for Q2 2018 showed that 4.89bn of premium motor spirits (PMS), 1.17 bln litres of automotive gas oil (AGO), 168.83 mln litres of household kerosene (HHK) and 176.98 mln litres of aviation turbine kerosene (ATK) were distributed nationwide during the period under review.

Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho is reportedly set to marry two women at the same time.

The 38-year-old is allegedly living with ‘fiancees’ Priscilla Coelho and Beatriz Souza at his £5million Rio de Janeiro mansion, and are planning on taking the next step with both of them in August.

Ronaldinho, whose full name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, will wed his two partners in a private ceremony in the mansion, Brazilian media reports.

The former Barcelona star allegedly started dating Beatriz in 2016, but continued his relationship with Priscilla, which began several years earlier.

According to reports, both lovers receive an ‘allowance’ of around £1,500 from the footballer to spend as they wish.

He also reportedly always gives the two the exact same presents, including recently buying them the same perfume during a trip abroad together.

Elizabeth Ibezim, who allegedly abducted a two-year-old girl in Lagos, has been arrested.
The little girl was allegedly stolen while her mother was busy selling yam tubers at Mile 12 Produce Market, Lagos.

The Lagos State police spokesman, SP Chike Oti, said in a statement on Wednesday that the child was rescued as Ibezim was about to board a bus at Ketu bus stop in Nigeria’s commercial capital.

“The incident took place at Mile 12 Yam market, Ketu, Lagos, where the child was taken away from the stall of her mother who was busy selling her wares at the popular market.

“When she eventually noticed that her child was missing, she became frantic and a search party was immediately raised to help her find her child.

The Federal Operations Unit, FOU, Zone A, Nigeria Customs Service, has impounded 10 luxury vehicles belonging to E-Money, a popular music promoter, over underpayment of duty on the vehicles.

The vehicles, said to have been cleared by officers and men of Apapa Customs Command, were intercepted by officials of FOU, following a tip-off about the value of duty paid on them.

A source at FOU confirmed the seizure to Vanguard, explaining that E-Money himself had visited the Unit to try and take back custody of the vehicles, but that FOU leadership had insisted on complete payment of duty before the vehicles can be released to him.
