Hi sorry for the late response, it should be in by now if it's over 1 month.. go to your bank with the telex the sch shared with you so as to enable the head office team trace from treasury operations...

thanks

Think you.
I have done this last week as stated earlier on, the bank is telling me after further review on the account, the fund is not yet credited. But the school said it has been sent.

Hi, You would have to exercise alot of patience... so this is it.. if you had transferred via a Dom account, it would have been a straight shot from your school..However i guess you transferred via Naira using Form A or card,... so this will be the flow:
1. Your school sends to your Bank's correspondence Bank (Say JP morgan in New York for example)
2. The correspondence bank (That's the representative Bank of your local bank abroad) wires the funds to your Bank's Escrow account.
3.Your local bank is required by law to move same funds to CBN for rate approval at the prevailing rate....
4. then the credit happens

If am not mistaken, the 3rd legs takes about 3 weeks or so to conclude... so please do not fret or hassle your bank officials.. You will get the money and yes the rate will be against u.... when you transferred, the rate was say 292......The rate to be applied will not favor you... so be ready for some Exchange rate loss......
The best way to safe guard such next time is by moving funds via dom so you receive FX to FX ( this is hard to achieve thou due to most schools regulation or partnership with funds transfer partners).. hope that helps...cheers.

Wow!!! Some enlightenment here boss.
I should have used a dom account, that took less than a week to process the one that I witnessed. Someone helped me to transfer the school fee to them. I don't know if he used card or transfer.

In essence, are you're saying the bank will credit me when it's time without me going to them (Nigerian bank)?
If yes, how long do you think the whole process take? It's already over a month though (July 23).

Thanks!

Conestogac Canadian students, graduates and prospects, I need your help concerning Conestogac refund

I will just go straight to the point.

So I requested for a refund of my initial deposit from Conestogac, their CIBC sent me a form to fill which I did. I was told the refund has been made to the banking details I provided since the 23rd of July. (The account I provided is not DOM). Since I haven't received the money in my account I requested for the telex copy of the transaction which was sent after many emails.

I went to my bank to make a complaint. After showing them the telex, they told me further review on the account showed they are not in possession of the fund at the moment that I should laise with the other party for further assistance.

I mailed the school back (both the finance department and Student and Fee coordinator) stating the refund is yet to be remitted in my account. No reply from the department but the coordinator said he cannot render further assistance as both Finance and CIBC have confirmed the money has been sent.

What could be the problem now?
Is it possible that the money has been sent but not yet received?
Or is it my bank lying or the school?

Clues and assistance would be appreciated

How did you pay?

The payment was made for me by an agent I was using. I've taken over my account since I kept asking him to do something about the refund and he didn't even care.

So I had to fill in my own account details.

If you said three weeks, that’s not too long ago because Conestoga takes time to refund and it will take more time for it to hit your account. You need to be patient if you have done the right things and supply the right informations.
I hope you filled the account in which you paid the money from in the first place?
Oga Jeff may be of help. Look for his handle here and hear from him too.

I used an agent but the idiot is not doing anything to help with the refund. I had to take over my account myself. He used his account to pay.

Follow them up o, as a matter of fact, I am experiencing the same issue with Conestoga college. The level of nonchalance is alarming. Mine is 10 weeks now.

In my last message to them, I told them I will proceed to tag Canadian government officials on social media with my complaint if they don't give me a definite timeline to issue the refund(The initial timeline they gave was 6-8 weeks). They moved the refund to a new stage the same day and later told me it will take an additional 2-4 weeks.

So don't wait at all, follow up.

I need you all help on the issue of refund from Conestoga.
I requested for submit about 3weeks ago. I did that on my student profile and I mailed them immediately. I was then asked to mail CIBC. CIBC sent me a refund request form to fill, where I filled my details including banking details.
Since then, I've not heard from them and no change on my profile.
Please how am I supposed to go about it?

While Most agencies would deprive you full disclosure of information just for exploitation purposes, its up for you to decide which to opt for after deligent search. On the other hand employers are somewhat affiliated with the agencies, so all contracts and incentives labelled out by the agencies stands in for the employer. Point is, whatever u decide, make no payments upfront. A trusted agency gets everything done totally free while they get their cut from the employer, the employer who gets their cut from your services. So its a chain, Like hunnybee states, i wasn't told it was the employer who was offering all the incentives, i got stucked with the idea that it was the agency who had everything covered, I made no payment whatever to the agency though, i only just found out when i was about terminating the contract earlier than stipulated, i wasnt hurt cos i lost nothing. So its best to get all the details right before settling for any. Most of these agencies gives u an option of travelling with your family but all cost on you while others don't. Like Mehree indicated, make ur diligent search on those sites(they are trusted) and make a pick. And please make no payments whatever to any agency. Use your head my brother.

Wow!

Thanks, instructed!

My dear i can't recommend any agency for you so i don't get banned but you can get ur thorough search done with Job finder apps like INDEED, LINKEDIN and SEEK. you can maximize alot of agencies who would be willing to help long as u have the required IELTS score/CBT.

Note- non of these agencies would offer u a refund of all cost involved in this processes for free afterall, its no philanthropic organisation or setup, its why they are agencies, they'll make their Gain in one form or another. My sister used one, reasonable but was not free. Make your thorough search and get yourself the help you need.

Understood.
Thank you.

Do not be mislead, no agency will ask you to pay a dime if you’re coming to UK, you also do not sign any agreement with the agency, the agreement is with your employer which you will sign anyway whether you use an agency or not. Chances of you paying your own fee increases if you go straight to employer without the agency. Any agency asking you to pay for UK processing is a fake and only out to dupe you.

Thank you.

1)An agency would give you an option of travelling with your spouse and kids(less than 18years) but at your expenses or just you but all cost covered then after or year or 2(or probably less) you can get ur family over.

2)Well, Most Agency offer refund of your ielts/CBT, visa, Accommodation and OSCE registration and tutoring but then If you don't want to pay for someone's connections, time and travel advice, using an agent may not be worthwhile to you. "There’s really no set fee structure," And while in many instances a recruitment agency can help you clinch the greatest values, you will need to pay for their consultation hours, efforts and knowledge by signing a 2/3years contract with them while working as a registered nurse, its left for u to be aware of the terms set out in the agreement before venturing into it, so u see?If they handle the arrangements for you, that money will most likely come back to you in one form or another.

Thank you for the swift response. So it depends on the agent's terms and conditions.

*would you recommend any agent or a platform where one can connect with agents?

You need 2years post registration experience as part of ur eligibility. You barely have up to a year's experience so i doubt your eligibility status. Account with CGFN closes after one year so you don't want to waste your money starting the process when all the required documents ain't readily available for evaluation.

I'm a Nurse and I just passed my IELTS.
I have a couple of questions I will like you to help shed more light as regards UKNMC:

1. how long does it take if you would like your family to join after passing the OSCE exam? What is the process involved?

2. Any disadvantage of using recruitment agent?

Thank you

cchimaa:
Hello travellanders,

I am a nurse in Nigeria.

I never planned relocating, but I wouldn’t want to bore us with my reasons for changing my mind. HOWEVER, THE MAJOR REASON IS MY CHILDREN’S FUTURE.

I became a nurse 15 years ago and majority of my mates are out of our dear country.

I have five (5) nursing diploma certificates, BNSc and MSc Nursing. Infact, I’ve started my Ph.D in Nursing Science (I’m suspending it anyway as I don’t know my bearing yet)

I have a fairly good job and my salary is a little above 200k.

A lot of my friends have encouraged me to relocate and work in Europe, but I had so much hope in Nigeria and was ‘team vacation’

My story changed August, this year.

So, I called a friend who relocated to the UK 14 years ago. She explained the process of relocating as a nurse to 5 different countries to me.

After discussion with my husband, parents and siblings, we decided that I should try that of UK.

I registered for IELTS and CBT that August and passed.
Then, started the process on the nmc UK portal.
I googled for an employer, got an agency, did interview and got the job.
I paid the required fee.

My employer asked me to resume November, but I told them I wasn’t ready as everything happened so fast, and my decision letter wasn’t ready then. So, I used that as an excuse, although they felt disappointed. But I need more bonding with my kids as I won’t be traveling with them. They will have to join me after some months.

I’ve gotten my decision letter and visa now and will be moving before the end of January.

Why did I open this thread?
1. To learn from people that have done this in the past
2. To assist people going through the same process

I will answer questions concerning the process to the best of my ability and ask questions when I also need clarification (maybe when I want to start packing my bags)

IGNORE ALL ERRORS!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
I have a couple of questions I will like you to help shed more light:

1. how long does it takes if you would like your family to join after passing the osce exam, what are the processes involved?

Nigerians are hypocrites. When they are showing tens of millions of naira in the account to apply for the visa.

That is why the rejection rate is so high to the extent that the Canada visa process of study permit in Nigeria is very uncertain . US, new Zealand, UK ,Ireland and Australia schools are more expensive than Canada .

Look for cheaper schools in Canada to apply to and go to free tuition schools in Europe.

When Canada denied me, I just shift my attention to scadinavians. The visa and admission are very easier compare to Canada, life is also more relax there.

This depression is getting too much for international students from Africa.

My God help us.

Can you be more specific about the scadinavians you switched to?

No dey insult us Baba! I did Estate Management.. LOL..

There are now different opportunities in the field of Environmental sciences and multidisciplinary master's courses.

Yeah! People in Economics obviously in Germany. Estate management as a course is a UK thing so there are more post study opportunities there but in Germany, the academic pathway is different and are mostly in German.

Me personally, I don't see the need to do a master's in Estate management except if one you plan for a career in the academics...

Try Anhalt, they have many different masters in specific field that you can do.. many environmental management course will accept you if your CGPA is good. Many Courses in TUM and Berlin need people from diverse backgrounds in many of the courses, you can also explore them.

Estate Manager I hail ooo.
At the bold, I said I'm not interested in Estate Management poo. I just want to study something for my Masters over there. The Anhalt, I hope is tuition free. Let me go back to Daad... Many thanks!

Please don’t be discouraged .. Just try to find a course closely related under your faculty or any management courses with similar course modules you did during your undergraduate program..there are some courses you did under management that will make you qualify for many management courses. Don’t be hell bent on Estate program alone cos diversity is what life is right now.shalom

I'm not even interested in Estate Management. It's those other courses under management that's the real problem. All management courses I've seen both in Daad(Germany) and studyinfo(for Fnland) don't see Estate Management as course that meet their requirements. They mostly look for Economics, Business Admin and even Engineering for requirements. It's 2days already that I have been on the search, I've even sent email to schools but they gave me negative feedback.

Elders pls advise me on what to do.
Should I go for Undergraduate courses (considering the time and cost)?
Is there any way I can enter without study? ( would have opted for Canadian Express entry but for fund)
