Are you trying to make sense or you just want to talk?
Someone was signed today, and you're saying you haven't heard of him before.
Do you hear of everyone before they're signed? undecided

No I don't think he is talking in that context of Asake been a known fellow or not,I believe what he is saying is that Yoruba folks barely name the male child Awake, most believe the name is for the female child most times

definitelyME:
I will be 21 years old by June this year and I am currently out of school(dropped out for some personal reasons last year) but I will going back to school in a few months time since i gained admission this year.. I still live with my parents and to be honest, the pressure to leave my parents house especially from my dad's side has been much this past few years(although he wouldn't say it directly). Although my father is a very well to do man, with lots of properties I can't even keep track of, he always emphasise on the need for me to go a hustle for my own money and not depend on his(which I know is for my own good and I am currently working towards that).. After much thought to it, and not to forget I am the first child of five children, and two of my younger siblings who I senior with 3 and 5 years respectively, will also be writing jamb this year too seeking admission, I am currently nursing the idea to abandon the admission I've gotten this year and go look for a job. A job that pays at least 40-50k so I can work through out the year and make savings of at least 30k every Month, then at the end of the year, I use about half of the savings to start a business that can run while I school. Like okada business. I wouldn't be riding the okada. I will use half of the savings to buy the okada for someone to be riding and bringing weekly income of maybe 10k while me I go to school...

Note- I have already gotten potential jobs I would be submitting my c.v for one of them on Monday. And If I eventually get the job, I would be going to work from my uncle's apartment (he is still young too 27, without kids)..

So would you advise me to sacrifice one year for work or just accept my admission and go to school.

Bro if the admission is Into a university of your choice and a course of your choice,I willadvise you g with the admission, schooling doesn't stop you from working, I'm also a student and I go out to work at every given chance,I school at I ibadan and go to Lagos to work at any given opportunity be it holiday or lecture free days......
I have a coursemate who is a guitarist and a very good and connected one who doesn't joke with his work and still finds time to come to class
So nothing stops you from schooling and working.....mind you I'm into plumbing work

Investment / Re: Do You Trade On Any Financial Instrument? Then Read This by Holluwaphlexy(m): 10:31am On Aug 08, 2021
legendseeker:
Join NAFIT today.

The full mean of the NAFIT is National Association of Financial Instrument Traders.

This group is created for Financial Instrument Traders to rub minds and get the required corporation they need to succeed in the dreadful trading environment.

I have a very important question I want us to ask ourselves about this whole financial instrument trading thing.

The question now is this! Since we have been trading for this long, What have we achieved? Let's be sincere with ourselves.

This question has nothing to do with trading strategy, money management or discipline! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they are not important because you can't succeed in trading without them. What I am trying to say is for now let's assume all things being equal, for the years we have all spent! Do we have anything tangible to show that we got/made from trading?

Personally! The amount of money and time we've all lost over these years means a lot to many of us and our respective families! We learnt to trade to make money not to lose, but after we got introduced even by the so called professional trainers/coaches, brokers, etc. We did demo for a couple of months as we were instructed to do and started trading on a real/live account, it was blowing account upon blowing account, both personal and public funds! Some of us (myself included) have even been arrested previously due to this trading thing and yet we are still sticking to it like we are under a spell done by these brokers. These brokers are getting richer everyday with branches everywhere, while the rest of us are getting poorer and this is a thing of major concern to me and thus the reason I thought we should form this union of National Association of Financial Instrument Traders (NAFIT) starting from a group here on WhatsApp.

I know many friends who went from zero to hero hustling through other online mediums, which is still the same internet hustle, you will always hear stories of people going from grass to grace doing other internet hustle every now and then, but there is never a time I ever heard of any over these years that made it big from trading for real, not some unknown guy not really visible using fake profiles, claiming to be on top of the world online, but yet brokers are still in business for all these same years. I have two very close friends doing other internet hustle who went from zero to 16 million naira (approximately $40,000) and 12 million naira (approximately $30,000) respectively in 2020 (just last year alone), e shock me! (I'm overwhelmed). They both started there online hustle in year 2017.

I started trading almost a decade before these guys and have gone from grace to grass and yet these guys started there hustle less than five years ago and have already made what so many people will never get at retirement (in Nigerian context). This may sound funny, but there is light in it! Join this Association on WhatsApp, let's discuss about this whole financial instrument trading thing and find a possible solution together.

Look forward seeing you there. Cheers!

I type this with tears in my eyes. I decided to share say this here because if I need somebody to hear my voice, as I approach my end.
If I write this on Facebook, family and friends will see it and panic will set in, I don't want that. Devoid of our differences, Nairaland is also family to me.
The choices I made in life are mine, but the forces at work are overwhelming. I was weak to their manipulations.
All I ever wanted was to be an Engineer, to make mama proud and take care of my siblings.
Believe me I have Love in my heart. I wanted to just be a better version of myself but nothing seems to work.
When it seems like I am making a little progress, my desires are there to remind me that I am only but a prisoner.
It appears to me that I was created a failure. I failed my family once again, myself, Society and God almighty.
Now I am not afraid of death, I am only sad as I picture the face of Mama, Papa, Brothers and sisters crying while I lay motionless oblivious of everything( I know I will surely hear their wailing from the other side)
I don't want to be judged, but that isn't really my choice to make.
The next 3 weeks will be very crucial to my existence, if I survive it, then I will know that I will grow old and reach 95( I have always told anyone that cares to listen that I will live to 95).
I know they are not reading this now, and nobody that knows me personally is; I just want to tell mom that I love her. To dad; All I wanted was to make him proud. To my brothers and lovely sisters: I love you guys, take care of mom and dad and succeed where I have failed.
To my Nairaland family, God bless you all. I will miss the Afonja's, Igbos, Nyamiris, Brown roofs, red mud, Arewa's(do they even have any special insulting name like the rest of us?)Lala and his snakes, the feminists( feminists are wonderful people, thank God they don't breed well). Lol

I sincerely pray I survive this. Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, Save Us and the whole world.

suicide isn't and with never be the way boss,I believe whatever you are going through is just a phase in life where you face an hard time in just few period to reaching that limelight you never thought of,don't give up and I believe all will be well soon..

I never seem to get myself to finish watching the film "hotel Rwanda".... knowing art imitated life.

She is a strong woman who chose forgiveness despite the hand she was dealt , I have no words to describe Mary, but she's the quintessential definition of humanity and a testimony that good people still exist.

The fact that she is talking about it shows she's healing .

The truth is being spoken, that's the first step to reconciliation...

"Bandage don't fix bullet holes if you live like that you live with ghosts"

"God will never help an unjust nation even if they are believers, but will help a just one even if they are unbelievers"

I pray rwanda and every other war-ravaged country in the world find its footing.

May the horrors of war never visit us again as a nation.

You need to watch "sometimes in April" too, I so much felt for them ,who ever is clamouring for war should watch one of the two movies to know what's up
