Good morning everyone. Got admitted into Western Illinois University for Masters in Quantitative Economics with partial funding of $4k. I'm still awaiting admission decisions of two more schools.

Please can someone add me to the Visa Interview Search date? My number: +2348182576589. Thanks in advance.

Any PhD or Masters Economics applicant to these schools? If any, let's link up.

West Virginia University?
University of Maine?
Western Illinois University?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for decisions very soon.

Again, I would like to ask about the possibility of getting a PhD Economics through B.Sc degree in Economics from Nigeria. People often say that Economics in Nigerian Universities ain't quantitative and mathematical enough compared to Ghana and South Africa.

So I would like to know if you've seen any Nigerian who obtained PhD admission in Economics in the USA through his/her B.Sc degree in Economics

Note: I'm not disputing my chances though, I have a first class degree in Economics, a very good recommendation letter, 333 in GRE (170 in Quantitative, 163 in Verbal) and also have three years research experience with a top consulting firm in Nigeria.

Hi Everyone. I need an honest feedback on this. I intend going for a PhD Economics in the US with a First class degree in Economics, GREQ 170, GREV 163, AWA 3.5 and two years experience as a researcher in a consulting firm . I'm considering US schools within the 40-100 ranking. Would you advise I proceed with my PhD application or I opt for a terminal Masters program. And can you recommend schools I may add to my bucket list?

Note: The funding opportunities for PhD program is my driving force.

Hi Guys. Thanks for every relevant information and details. You guys are really doing a great job.

Please I would like to ask know If anyone applied or has ever applied for M.Sc Economics at the University of Manitoba. Would need to ask few questions.

I applied few months back, but hasn't received any response yet. Besides, I graduated with 4.59 CGPA in Economics with a year work experience as a research consultant. Study gap is three years.

Would be glad if anyone could enlighten on any likely setback that might be hindering my application.

Thanks and God bless

Hi Guys,

Please I'm getting sponsorship from my dad's friend company (he owns the company and ready to support with the COA and even ready to issue a letter of support). What are my chances of getting my visa approved without any query?

And again, for how long must the supporting funds be in an account, to be accepted by the VO as palatable?
No time period? just few days? or a month?

Thanks in advance

Hello people!

Please I need some clarification.
I just gained admission for Fall 2022 and I’ll be resuming by August. Although, I do not have funding yet. So I applied for Out-of-State Tuition Waiver under Centre for Global Engagement in my school but this will cover only a part of my tuition fee.
My questions go like these:

1. What are the chances of making up for my deficit when I finally get there?
2. I'm about requesting for my I-20 and my COA shows $21,000. At what rate can I convert to naira? Again, can I get approval by using a sponsor who is not a member of my family but willing to help? If No, what idea can I use to make the sponsor claim my family name?
3. If I should pay my SEVIS fee and apply for Visa next week, can I still be given Month of May appointment date?

Congrats to all admitted aspirants.... I won't stop remembering how elated I was when I was admitted diz same time last year. I urge u all to start preparing hard for the session, get necessary materials from yur senior colleagues and making reading a fun. In Unilorin, we celebrate Scholars so take yur studies as yur priority, mingle with people that have sometin upstairs, stay pious and upright, respect both young and old, see much bt say less, get used to the stress and some lectures ill- mannered character, study everytin in yur dept both lectures and the mode of setting questions, read at yur convenient hours, create a study group and b fair to everyone. I heard a saying last year that " if u can survive in unilorin; you can survive anywhere in the world. As a preliminary token, i want to enjoin us all to stand up for challenges and put in our very best in whatever we do in campus. Unilorin is a peaceful Place to study so i implore u all to shun every act of rascality, bullying and radicalism. We stand as the better by far...
Congrats one more time
