If you're looking for a job in 2013, here are the industries and regions to keep an eye on. Infrastructure, Hampshire/National Nearly £13m is to be invested on upgrading motorways and A-roads in Hampshire, with improvements on the M27, M3, A34 and A3 part of a £217m national programme to improve traffic flow. The £12.8 being spent is expected to help create up to 40,000 jobs between 2013 and 2015. Added to this, more than 23,000 new homes are scheduled for build in the county by 2020, creating jobs for the local construction industry. Retail, NationalThe high street has undeniably suffered over the last few years but there are retailers who plan to expand and take on more staff next year. Department store chain Debenhams plans to open 17 new stores over the next five years, with locations including Cheshire Oaks, Fort Kinnaird, Beverley, Wandsworth, Scunthorpe, Darlington, Shrewsbury and Newport, South Wales. German supermarket chain Aldi is in the middle of a two-year plan to open 40 new stores, having seen a huge surge in trade after successfully moving upmarket and gaining recognition for its high-quality produce at low prices. There will also be opportunities in the rapidly expanding designer shopping village sector, led by firms like McArthur Glen - which very recently gained planning permission for a new £35m development in Swindon. Pharmaceuticals, North WestRecruitment specialists Hays Life Sciences have identified the North West as a particular growth hotspot for the pharmaceuticals industry, with major players still expanding and new start-ups springing up around them. The company's Manchester director David Nixon said: 'The excellent transport links, outstanding universities, affordable office and laboratory space is fast making the North West an attractive place to do business. This is particularly true for the growing number of start-ups in the region.' Redx Pharma, based in Liverpool, recently secured £4.7 million in regional development funding to create nearly 150 jobs developing new anti-viral treatments over the coming years. Tech start-ups, East LondonEast London has changed dramatically over the last decade with urban regeneration accelerated by the Olympic Games, but the area has also become a hotspot for computer technology start-ups. Known as Silicon Roundabout or Tech City, the area in question is centred on Old Street - but business is expected to spread eastwards as businesses move into the legacy facilities left behind by the Olympics. In a recent opinion piece for the BBC, Tudor Aw, KPMG's Head of Technology Europe, said: 'The number of UK seed and start-up companies that have benefited from venture capital investment has grown steadily over the last few years, despite the financial crisis. Today, almost 5,000 digital and technology companies are estimated to be operating in East London, almost half of all the UK start-ups.' New tax breaks and support measures for the creative industries are intended to keep the momentum going - so London (and the more established 'Silicon Fen' area up the M11 in Cambridgeshire) is the place to look for tech jobs. see more on http://technostartups.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/where-to-find-work-in-2013.html |

NIGERIA |
The best announcement will be for President Jonathan to step down and let someone capable rule the country ![]() |
Nice gesture MI, please when you pen the song donate all the proceeds to the families involved as they have lost a gem already. |
Its only GOD that can comfort the families that have lost a love one, no matter whatever sin they have committed. Nigeria has always been a lawless country where the corrupted politicians and killer politicians get away with murder. The video of the killing has gone worldwide and to be treated in this manner is barbaric by those that was involved, clapping, watching and shouting. The country has a whole is upside down and under President Goodluck, it has been nothing but bad luck the worse Nigerian President I can remember in living day light. No one has been brought to justice so far, the government and police are nothing but useless .... another sad case in the history of Nigeria. |
Its just a training session for the Nigerian team |

I am not a doctor but know someone who had a high blood pressure of 189/80 which is extremely high, does not sleep at night and she is constantly complaining of chest pains. Now they have done all test, scans and x-rays but cannot find anything wrong, the only advice the doctor gave is whatever that's stressing her she needs to tackle it. Secondly needs enough rest, sleep and try to relax, the only thing she was given was a sleeping pill for 14 days and advice to bu a HBP monitor and just monitor it. High blood pressure increases the heart's workload, and over time, this can cause the heart muscle to thicken. As the heart pumps against elevated pressure in the blood vessels, the left ventricle becomes enlarged and the amount of blood pumped by the heart each minute goes down. www.mayoclinic.com/health/high-blood-pressure/HI00062 |

HE IS NOT DEAD, STOP SPREADING SUCH RUMOURS |
Why are non British born Nigerian's becoming heavily involved in UK gangs, I was on holiday recently and all I read and heard on the news was another person killed and who are involved, some Nigerians, some from the Caribbean’s and other black nation. Na wa it’s getting crazier by the day in that country where are the parents of this children |
Now the guy is broke he is now tracing his root to naija, joker |
That's nothing new ..... they are all barawo's |
D'Banj should take a leaf out of P Square, splitting up with Don Jazzy would be a disaster waiting to happen. Signing to Kanye West is not a bad idea but Don Jazzy will make money from producing for this guys while with D'Banj, I don't see Kanye West releasing his album in America (might be wrong). From what I noticed with the D'Banj, he is good entertainer but will soon be exposed. His new video is simply one of the worse have seen in a long time, no story line whatsoever. The only artists that are well respected are 2face, P Square and co ..... D'Banj needs to grow up as he is getting too cocky for his boots. |
The video is crap |
Every website needs a change once in awhile but instead of going live, you should have created a beta version where some people could have tested it. The colours are too bright and so many things do not feel right, fair enough you own the website but should have listened to what the users wanted. It will take some time to get use to it but I feel NL is loosing its identify. With the million of users facebook have, they cannot wake one morning and just change the whole design of their website. NL used to be number one for so long but its falling apart …… Seun you better do something about it, all the people that are complaining are your loyal NL users and want the best for the site. Lastly its too slow loading up ..... WHY |
Fair enough well done for creating your own code but the new design is crap !!! Its looks like its more geared towards advertising which I don't blame you for but its loosing its identify, am staying as a NL |
Great topic, the point is individuals must be business minded and ready to do anything. As we all know Rome was not built in a day and to succeed in life one must work very hard. |
@stagger - Mind your language , I was only giving the guy my advice. If you don't know how to talk to people, then keep your MOUTH SHUT ![]() |
Majority of the time no electricity and most imortantly 419 |
If I was in your shoes I will sell the vehichles before you get stressed out or get an high blood pressure. Majority of those drivers are useless and criminals, they will run the business down with excuses everyday. Its either the enginee problem today or they were caught by the police or armed robbery. |
I fully agree with okeyxyz and mekula, when it comes to business "Nobody trusts nobody" there are scammers all over the place. Get a representive in Nigeria to demo the products for you, seeing is believing. |
