Cell Phone Vs. Bible
« on: July 02, 2006, 06:56 AM »

Makes you stop and think where our priorities are?

              Cell Phone vs. Bible
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our
 cell phones?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it to receive messages?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?

This is something to make you go, hmmm, where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cellphones, we don’t ever have to worry
about our bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!
, C'on guys tell me your views!

   Have a blessed day!

put your bible on your cell phone, therefore the bible gets the same treatment as your phone. oh, tell the bible to make a beep sound when it receives a message

treating your bible like you treat your cellphone wont amount to anything of eternal value. You will be better of meditating and storing up the word of God in your memory to build up your faith. Storing and memorizing verses of the bible without thinking of them and applying them to situations is a waste of your time.

Its not so much as how you treat your bible, but the words you learn from it, and how you apply it to your every day life Smiley

I've got the Audio Bible loaded on my Ipod (complete with Chain & Cross references), so it gets the same treatment as my Cell (we call it Mobile) phone.

By the way, my Pastor (M.Ashimolowo) always tells us that 'if God is not the one calling you on your Cell/Mobile phone during church service you shouldnt use it there'

God save us from the tyranny of "the bible". It has never occured to us (Nigerian) Christians to find out where this English bible (that has so much control over our lives) REALLY came from. We just believe what we are told by pastors who make vague references to hebrew and aramaic sources,

And here we are on an Internet thread - grown up men & women (presumably, of sound mind) speaking as if there is a policeman hidden in their Bibles.

NIGERIANS, WAKE UP!!!!

We have slumbered too long,

Hi everyone!
I don't think it's nescessary for us to treat the Bible the same way we treat our cellphones. We don't need to carry our Bibles everywehre like we do with our cell phones. Why do we carry our cell phones anyways? Is it because we like it or is it because we need it? Well, the thing wiith cell phones is that you can't make or recieve calls unless you have it with you. But with the Bible you just have to have it in your head to remember. It's not the papers that make up the Bible, it's the words. So if you can remember the words as it is in the Bible then you don't need to carry the papers with you unless you want to show someone.
