I can't seem to get over the fact that eminem wins best rapper alive when there are lots of great

rappers out there. Eminem is not were near Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, 50cents, Rakim, T.I and a whole lot more.

Eminem is dope but in ma opinion, Esco takes the crown.

Before y'all become "wonderers", stress yourselves wondering what a curious decision Vibe reached, y'all need to stop and imagine what the criteria for that choice could have been. Take note that the poster used the word "vote". First question that quickly pops in ma mind is "Who voted?" If you ask me, certainly not core rap fanatics on this forum or anywhere in the world. Seems to me that anybody would have voted.

And mind you, "anybody" as used in that context implies any music lover who would, irrespective of his/her taste for other music genres also love Eminem's style - from the rock fans to R & B, Soul, Funk, name it.

Mos' def not hardcore rap fans.

Tell me, who doesn't 'love' Em's style? From the wordplays to the rhymes, the humour, the sarcasm in his flows/lyrics? He's got mass appeal - to the old and young, male and female, rap fan and rap hater, just anybody.

And, let's admit it, Em is good.

But I doubt hardcore rap fans had time to vote.

I'm sure mainstream rap fans must have voted.

Eminem is a mainstream rapper.

Rappers like Canibus, Kweli, Common, Jadakiss, Rakim as mentioned are hardcore, underground and even though their track records submerge Em's, they wouldn't have been voted _{by the mainstream rap fans}.

Someone mentioned album sales. Yes I agree that must have been one of the parameters for the voters'/Vibe's choice.

And, wait a minute, who blurted out that "Nas is next to Em" stuff?

What has Eminem's skin colour gast to do with this? Vanilla Ice, SNOW, MC search and many more are wiggaz, where are they today?
Slimshady is the best rapper out there lyrically. . . . .All his music/tracks and songs are top draw.

After Nas' STILLMATIC, he hasn't come up with something worth listening to. . . . He is now in the category of "has been".
Same as Jay-Z, after the BLACK ALBUM, he stopped spitting.
The only rapper who still maintains the same constitency he had when he busted into limelight is Em!!!!

em, ma guy, Eminem hasn't been consistent as you say. His peak obviously was The Marshall Matthers LP, his only classic, and after that, it was either the average (The Eminem Show) or the outright crappy (Encore) album.

NaS on the other hand has TWO OFFICIAL CLASSICS Illmatic and Stillmatic. Albums he has released between and after them have been regarded as near-classics, hell some consider Untitled to be a classic. In a musicians career, and for a rapper, that's one hell of a feat.

Besides, on the rap battle scene, Em is overhyped, no thanks to that 8 Mile movie. In the real world, he has been defeated in freestyle battles time and again. . . at least i know of two - by Rhymefest (remember that Brand New song with Kanye West?) and Otherwize at the '97 Rap Olympics. Em came 2nd.

Eminem has lost rap battles time and again. Two good examples are the freestyle battles against Rhymefest and Otherwize (in '97). Further, it was proven when Sway interviewed and rhetorically asked Rhymefest on Mtv. The other, he ( Eminem ) admitted in a Rap Magazine in 2003.

If you cite his most famous battles a la Benzino, Insane Clown Posse, Everlast etc. . . these cats are not regarded as AND ARE NOT Rap Heavyweights. Preying on their kind isn't battle, that's similar to getting pleasure from anal rape.  Have you ever wondered what would be the outcome of an Eminem Vs Common battle? Just ask Ice Cube and the Westside Connection.

Or perhaps the outcome of an Eminem Vs Immortal Technique battle? ROFLMAO, no further comment. . .

Fact No.2,

Eminem has only one classical album, The Marshall Matthers LP, the rest, even by his fans' evaluation are not classics. The next 2 albums were either dissapointing and average or just plain pop crapiness as evidenced in the Just Lose It and Without Me songs

Not sure what makes a rapper the best is a freestyle battle.

That aside, your idol Em has lost some rap battles quite alright.

FYI, in the 1997 Scribble Jam MC Battle, Em was defeated by both Rhymefest and Juice. Em was even criticized for using the same "freestyle" punch lines in both the 1997 Rap Olympics and the 1997 Scribble Jam competition.

Your idol Em atimes pre-writes his so-called freestyle battle lines.

Me even thinks Jin would win Em in a rap battle. Too sad the guy retired too early. In his prime, Jin was is the best on-the-spur-of-the-moment freestylist. He freestyles on da spot. Irked, he would rip your idol Em to shreds and make him look like a roasted chicken.

Most of Em's best comebacks are when brothers diss him on being white _{*The redneck *}

We're talking rap in its true context here - the lyrics, flows, poetry, punchlines, metaphors, rhymes, etc. And you think Em beats Nas on all these? Em is good but mos' def not the best.

Wordsmith has laid it all bare for you. He's said most of the thangs I'd have loved to say. And for emphasis sake, I'll repeat some:

And imagine you saying Stillmatic and Illmatic are Nas' only classical albums. Even the Untitled album is gaining mass acclaim.
