Prophet Nathaniel Olabosipo Babarinde is the founder of Christ Apostolic Church, Solution Embassy located at Egan in Lagos. In this interview with YEJIDE GBENGA-OGUNDARE and LARA OJO, he speaks on religious crisis in Nigeria, conflict within the CAC hierarchy, his call, lack of holiness and sundry issues. Excerpts:

WHAT do you think of the conflict among men of God in the Christ Apostolic Church?

These are plans of the devil to hinder the spread of the gospel. Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) is established by God for evangelism, salvation and miracle. If we examine the beginning of the call of CAC, the power of God was demonstrated through Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola in 1930. John Obi Oluwabamiji Ogundipe was ten years old when he died but God used Apostle Babalola to raise him from the dead.


Also, the Christ Apostolic church has been instructed by God to preach the gospel of end time. These are what the principalities of darkness saw in the future of the CAC and decided to bring misunderstanding among the leaders in CAC worldwide so as to derail the work of the lord.


Why is it that men of God today don't preach holiness?

In the beginning, when the twelve apostles received the gospel, they did not receive it because of money or material things. It is so unfortunate today that most men of God are not ready to stand in the position of God's standard rather they go on preaching prosperity. Holiness preachers are not many agains. Men of God are looking for the quickest way of getting riches and material thing. They have forgotten the word of God that says "seek ye the kingdom of God and its holiness and all other things shall be added unto you. More so, ministers of God cannot dedicate their lives to preaching holiness as gospel because of the challenges of the apostle.


What do you preach in your ministry?

With the grace given to me by Almighty God through my father in the Lord, Prophet Moses Ibrahim Olagunju and my great father in the Lord, Prophet Samuel Kayode Abiara, they stand on the call of the apostles as established by God, I was trained to preach salvation, repentance and holiness and a curse was laid on the day of my ordination that "anybody who departs from the word of God given to him to preach salvation, repentance and holiness shall be afflicted with all the curses in the Bible. So these are the bands that bind me from going astray from the will of God. I have confidence in my mentor; the pure word of God must be preached without any dilution.


Is there any penalty for men of God who violate God's instruction?

Well, all judgment and punishment comes from God. When Ananias and Sapphira sinned, God judged them and this is the reason why the death of men of God is so rampant today because many have departed from the will of God. Death is one of the punishments given to men of God that refuse to preach the gospel as established by God.


What is responsible for religious crisis in Nigeria?

Well, we are in the end time, where countries fight each other. Religious crises are signs of the perilous time. The aim of God is to establish peace to men not violence. It is however a sign of the second coming of Christ which has been written thousands of years ago.


Did God call you, and how?

Yes. Indeed I was called to serve by God. I was a motor mechanic but I am talented with spiritual gifts many of which I didn't understand their significance. God actually gave me a revelation of what is going to happen, and I do hear the voice of God from a tender age. In 1997, I surrendered totally to the call of God and I left the mechanic job.

All because of the earthly religious regalia they adorn themselves with, they think they are immune from early physical death? Absolute rubbish, whether you die early or late in life matters not, what matters is how well you live your life in an upright manner. He can be the next victim.
