The show didn't hold again on saturday as planned. It was postponed till sunday morning at 11.00 am.

I went to the Palms to get my ticket on Saturday and was shocked to hear horror stories from ticket holders. They said the venue was a total mess and that the stage was still being cemented at 5.00 pm on saturday. I didn't need anyone to tell me to do a u turn and head back home.

I finally asked a friend of mine who attended the show on Sunday how it went, and he said it was a flop. He said the turnout of people was poor and that there were too many touts and criminals at the venue.

Please can anyone confirm this?

Can anyone also tell us what the quality of the show was like?

I heard some horror stories abt it too, what with Ne-yo's luggage containing all his stage costumes being stolen, up to 45 minutes wait between each performance and the fact that they're wasnt even a curatin to draw when Kelly Row collapsed, it seems as tho this 2nd one no try at all.

Why were they so much in a hurry? Shew should have given these guys some rest before performing. Ten k is ok. It's their fault for not organising it well. How much was mtv's concert? They should put more efforts on security and whatever d price people pay. Tickets don't need to cost 4 milla to scare touts 4m coming. They got it all wrong. Am sure they didn't really publicize it cos of this Same SECURITY REASONS! If plenty people know about am, awon boys go ::: you know.

as at friday construction work was still goin on at the said venue,i knew there was goin to be an itch but i did not think it will this worse.well i will always give them the thumbs up because it is also a good development to the music industry, all they need do now is to go back to drawing board and get their sense of organising interanional show into action.

Diddy did not feel fine after the trip to Nigeria.

People pay as low as $40 to watch Diddy and other acts live in the US.

The first This Day music concert was a success, because many high ranking public officials and other well placed Nigerians supported the event.

Its time to ask the question, What exactly is the Thisday Music festival for?

Is it for a cause? What Cause?

Why spend millions to pay and bring in international stars just to go and have a good time?

If its just to bring stars and make profit from ticket sales, then its good its a flop.

The last time , I heard Snoop Dog was on stage with Weed, and even invited people to join him and take a whiff?
Thats absolute nonsense. Didnt anyone have the discipline and principles to tell him that its illegal here?

Once again, what is the festival for? If its just to indulge and *have fun* and make money off ticket sales, then Thisday should not make it a National event by inviting government officials to come grace the occasion.

I for one think its a total waste. Just thinking of the collosal amount(in dollars wasted), and the hundreds of individuals that would have benefitted if the money was used to set people up in their endeavours.

I am also disappointed in GTB for sponsoring that indulgence.

Am sure someone will jump in to tell me its for charity but we know better.
After the last one, maybe they can point out to us, the charitable things they used the proceeds for.

I trhink it's time THISDAY started thinking of utilising this event for something more creative and purposeful.

Proceeds from tickets sales can be used to fund projects and initiatives that can benefit the masses no matter how small. And make Thisday and other sponsors a household name as well.

There are charity football matches abroad. Events like this should be organised with similar intentions in mind.

Salvage really has a point. What is the rationale behind the Thisday Music Festival. Where is the money going to?? Is it a profit making venture or a public service knd of stuff.

Thisday really ought to get their acts right. As for those who made it to the show and were disappointed - take heart!!!!

10k is really a lot of money to pay and not get satisfaction

well, i was at the show and the experience was both good and terrible.

saturday---i bought tickets for saturdays performance so i'd have time to prepare for work on mon. on getting there at 3:45pm (show was for 4pm), we(my bf & i) were told the show had been postponed till 9pm. we just drove round and whiled away time and returned to the venue at about 7:30pm, only to see people leaving!on enquiry, we were told again that the show was now billed for 11:00am the next day. we tried desperately to sell our tickets as it was already obvious the show wasn't going to be all that.

sunday---didnt want the tickets to go to waste, so straight from church to thisday event center. got there at 1pm and people were still working on the stage and equipment and all sort of electrical stuff. the ac wasnt even on!! we were all sweating, fanning ourselves, grabbing the days paper(just incase there was any info in it) and exactly 1:23pm thankfully, the ac's were put on. and then we began to watch the stage and those moving equipment!!!!!

at about 2:05pm, shakira finally comes on stage!!at that point, i was glad i attended the show cos she sang all her popular songs and moved her unlieing hips. and she leaves stage about 3pm and then yet another wait.

john legend took the stage at about 5pm!!!you wont believe it, by then those for the 2nd show had started arriving, so it was just one big party! after another hour of wait after j.l, rihanna came on stage and sang the most awaited umbrella. at that point, the time was about 7pm.

the next artist was d'banj, but i left at about 7:45pm (_{had to get a life at that point, a whole weekend for thisday!)} and d'banj had still not showed face!!!!

yeah, i heard later that kelly fainted, probably due to jetlag!at 1st pple thought it was part of the act until her dancers rushed towards her!! my bf left the show at 1:00am after p.diddy performed, and at that point, neyo had not performed, ub40 had not performed, other nigerian artist had not seen the stage!!!

for thisday, the show was a flop!hurriedly organised and not enough publicity, but for me and those that could wait, we spent half the price to see all those artist!!!

For those questioning the purpose of the concert, they should please shut up. Must africa be an eternal stage for charitable events and charity soccer matches?

Nonsense. What's wrong with organising a show for profit? Thisday got the planning and logistics wrong this time - unlike the last time - PERIOD

with all the gist of preparing the stage and other things i Believe PLANET 1 MARYLAND would have been the best place for such Concert, the stage is set, for security you can be rest assure that the owner will invite men of the AREA F division of the police force. The Mnet idols show went on smooth with a very tight security and it was FREE TO THOSE THAT HAD FREE TICKETS. Pls THISDAY should learn from this big flop and try to do well next time

wotever happened to Thisday? cos d 1st concert was a lot more better. Sure Lady Diana's July 1st Concert was a lot more fun from wot we saw.

I was really disappointed in the 2nd ThisDay Music Festival, It was not well organised at all. the publicity was very poor. How can the artists like Diddy, Shakira, Kelly come to Nigeria without appearing in one media house. This would have made the turnout outstanding.
The are goners when it comes to Showbiz, I think they should just be content as a newspaper company because they're just bad business for evrybody.
