What about the league my friends,
The Premiership,its like Liverpool is never in contention & we've started the 2007/2008 season in an indifferent manner(yet again).

No doubt Rafa is a world class coach,but from my own estimation he's more of a tournament strategist,the type you need for national teams, I say we start looking for another coachmy humble opinion,please

@illusion2,
i totally agree wit u on benitez.he is a good coach,no doubt.not many coaches can achieve what he has achievd and d way he achievd,i mean winning major trophies wit a large group of average players and few special ones.
I am confusd and i think i know what will be going on in his mind right now.people think d £50 million given him was just spent on torres,babel and benayoun but d bulk of it was spent on d best youg legs.
My point is,if he ever thinks of resigning,these are things he would consider.he has investd in d future and it wont be fair on him when succes comes to us.
But i think he is thinking about his future and might be interestd in England job.
If he quits,i will feel sad and relievd at d same time.
I also think marcelo lippi is waiting for us.

Who would u fancy as benitez's replacement.

illusion, we can't sell masch because we don't own him. MSI does. However this current power tussle is a bit frightening. I hope it doesn't blow over.
I prefer to take games one at a time 4 now. Nxt is newcastle, after that is porto, so let's beat geordies first and then talk about the title.

@bgees
I agree Benitez should replace McClaren

I honestly think we should go South American(Zico?)

Mascherano wants to stay,benitez also wants him to stay.don't forget he is on loan.and d loan expires in january.if we don't make his deal permanent,we will lose him.his asking price is 16 mill.barcelona and juventus are interestd.
Benitez knows these and wants finalise d deal in time but Hicks an Gillet are delaying.

I disagree with your 'zico ' choice.he has had no major successes in his career.
I think lippi would be d best but he wont give youth a chance.

About our title chances ,i agree we judge wit every match we play.

@bgees,
How can u say Zico has no achievements?

Both as a player & his limited(short) stint as a coach he has been very successful, he's currently with Fenabache
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zico

Livepool play with a South American flair & Wenger who also coached like (Zico) has made a success of Arsenal.

one thing we must realise is that to get long term (&lasting) success we should invest in younger coaches(although Zico is 53 now) & not necessarily established names, Manchester United took the gamble in 1986, see where they are now, I've already mentioned Arsenal as well. Zico is just one of numerous coaches who can fit .

Lippi? Never! When someone has one the World Cup what other hurdle is bigger than that, he will just coast his way to the bank.

I think we saw a gerrard that was fired up today.it is certainly due to england's failure to qualify.
For d rest of this season,we want to see d fiery gerrard,d gerrard that playd in d FA cup final last year.
Congratulations.
@mdsocks,
u are  very welcome.always make sure u keep a strong faith.

We are the best no doubt.Today's match was very interesting, Gerrard as usual showed the stuff in him.I was very happy, can't hide it.Reds certainly will never work alone.Up Reds!
As for Champions League, we are in Second Round already, porto and Marseille can't stop us, they do not match up.

Hicks and Gillett are being too impatient.benitez is not even asking for money to buy players,he claims he wants to sign three players who will be free agents by january.
They are just too impatient. Even if benitez is going to leave ,he should'nt leave this way.it seems unfair.i think they are acting abrahamovic.and what i hear is that jose mourinho may replace him. Na wa O!
For God's sake ,its too early.we are six points behind d league leaders,we are still in d champion's league.there is still d FA cup.
They spend 50million and they start ranting.tell me which one of those player's is'nt worth the price tag.
If i am not mistaken,benitez had spent only a little below 40 million in his first 3 years .and what did he win.champ.league,fa cup,uefa super cup and d community shield. And we are not so far from d premiershp this season.

So hicks and gillett should relax .
