That's because Salvation(act of being saved from condemnation of sin - Death) only comes in at the point where you are to gain access into the Kingdom of God. "If you want to be perfect..." is the answer to the second question. The first question the man asked about what he must do to have eternal had been already answered by Jesus and the man had met that requirement.

You need understanding to be able to comprehend the difference between the two.

It exalted the nation of Nineveh and saved them from destruction.
