Hello house, I have serious interest in starting a poultry business.. please what can 300k do? I have layers in mind to raise from day old. I know a place i can rent space .. I need answers to like how many birds, feed to take care of them till they start laying, drugs... I'm just a novice but I'm ready to give a trial full time

You are looking for a comprehensive analysis of starting well people pay money for such, but what I will advice u is to read up this thread from page 1, then on layers budget 150 birds the money will cover their day old cost , drugs ,feeding until 20 weeks before then they would have started laying

CRD is air borne infection so no way u can prevent it for now but taking bio security and improving management measures in your pen will keep it away.
Now if you can go to page 23 of this thread and follow up with the vaccine chart , if u can follow it up with this new ones then improve the neatness of the pen u can buy polidine for weekly disinfecting the pen

The picture is after d washing 2days of drying wood shavings is applied and ventillation is allowed for a minimum of 7 days
This is to allow d broader rest after washing with disinfectant
Good work you are doing. I want to ask the following questions
1 can a broiler live for more than a year?
2 Is it possible to get a pure black and pure white of any breed apart from broilers?

Broilers are not designed to live that long but yes its possible to keep them but with constant medication and attention to health .

Pure black breed can gotten from black cockerel while pure white cockerels may have brown or black supporting feathers pure white legon are not available now in Nigeria

Please I need help.
My turkey of 6months is unable to walk. This stated like two day ago. I don't know what the problem is. Before this it seems very healthy.
Problem is this is not the first. A smaller one of about 4months also had this problem but I thought it was because a bigger turkey sat on it but I don't think that is the case for this one.

Can anyone tell me what to do. It's really struggling, it just crawls on its knees all over the place.
I had to separate it from the other cause they are just bullying it.

Good afternoon sir, my turkey of about 6months and 4 months is also not able to walk. Poo is also liquid green. One died a few days ago before this two suddenly started showing same symptom. What can I do I don't want it to die. I have isolated them from the others.

Enjoy ur eggs remember broilers are for meat production while layers are for egg production so can't compare laying ability or egg size of both species even though your broilers just started laying and its expected the eggs will start from a small size and gradually increase in size

Pls send the pics

See the pictures
The first is turkey us about 7 months old. Started laying and crawling around for four days.
The second picture is it's poo

The third picture is the 4months old turkey also started laying around 4days ago. It always has a visible leg problem like a k-leg sort of .
The fourth picture is it's poo

The 6 months old turkey although it's not able to walk is still very active, eats and drinks well, would even pick a fight with other turkeys if they come close enough and is also still roaming around the place although it's crawling.

This pics did not allow me to see how active the birds are, but if they are active then administer lasota tomorrow morning followed by clean water , the next day place them on NCO and center dicox and Vira mix for 5 days , let me know how it goes

Lasota is very risky at that stage of infection. It looks like the birds are infected with Newcastle, Infectious Bursal with cocodiosis.
He can try liquid anticocci like diclacox with Septrim, Vitamix and a very good multivitamin.

Broiler production is like every other Biz , but your success or failure lies in your hand , understanding your immediate market demands is the first step to successful marketing forget about what you think you can do go around and meet sellers to have idea of the real deal
