I don't endorse the president's corruption but a military government is inexcusable and is one of the worst forms of government today. Countries will evolve naturally and get to a place where their institutions will become better and stronger. With time , the electoral process will become less transparent and more legit. But a military take over is just taken everyone backwards.... there's no shortcut to governance.

Let's just see how it plays out.

And the way francophone West Africa is rife with coup these days is suspicious.

Exactly.

I like the point you made about election systems evolving.

US used to have a very corrupt electoral system once.bribery, voter intimidation and disenfranchisment if voters as well as violence used to be the order of the day in some parts.

Now it is better. Without the need for coup at all

That is what your parents said in 1983.

And your grandparents in 1965

Ask them how it turned out.

Evil African leaders. This is the same reason Buhari allows only Fulani family and friends around him. No one fears coup more than Bubu

if you also compare Nigeria's electoral system between 1999 and now, there are marked differences.

If there's been a military disruption, the only thing sure would be that we will still go back to the naturally process of political and electoral evolution.

A military government is the worst form of government any country can be cursed with.

This is the country Fulani terrorists in Nigeria migrate from. All Fulanis in Nigeria including the chief terrorist in Aso Rock should be deported to Guinea Conakry.

President Alpha Conde deserves nothing less.
Even though I suspect the French has a hand in this. The people of Guinea have been suffering like Nigerians.
President Conde was voted out, but like some of his brothers in Nigeria, he smuggled his way in.

By the way, not even a millitary coup can save Nigeria now. This country is finished and it shall never be well for Lord Lugard and his girl friend for joining the Sahara head slammers with the Southerners.

How can you live with a people who bleep their cows, use cow's urine to bath, marry underage girls as young as 12 year old and expect progress?
second to last paragraph says it all bro

At the end of the day, democracy is better than army rule.

The first and second republic in Nigeria were also disrespecting the constitution by corruption and rigging and jailing opponents. And there was security crisis in both times.

But at least you had freedom of expression and some basic rights

Rights that were taken away by the Army.

In 1962, awo went through a normal court process and was sentenced for plotting a coup. Possibility of appeal.

Meanwhile under Abacha, it was summary jail and death sentence.

I lived under Shagari and under millitary rule. And army rule was worse
Yet you voted Buhari?

Let me tell you something

You see most of the Nigerian coup plotters are the ones in government today. They purposely disarmed the military for fear of another coup taking them out.

No level of insurgency would move them to properly equip the Nigerian military to stop such onslaught because

1. These insurgents have backing from high ranking government officials

2. An efficient military would eventually topple this excuse we have for a government

Nigeria is intentionally kept the way it is today. These former coup plotters know exactly how to hit the military where it hurts which so much precision, it has been effective so far. Perhaps it is for the benefit of all as a military government is not a great option either, but for fuçks sake, they should fix the economy of Nigeria and quit all this horse play.

A French legionaire who shares the same tribe with Alpha Conde recommended by France to head an new elite force trained by France can only mean one thing: Colonel Mamady Doumbouya was on a mission from the Francophone HEADMASTER.

That's it.

Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you. Have you noticed that there has been a slurry of coups in francophone countries lately? Is France restrategizing its inroads into Africa?
