security issues? That's why the world and Nigerians don't use Onne port in port Harcourt.

So there's been security issues since 1967 to 2021 ? Your anus should be envious of the filth coming out of your brain.

More self-consoling nonsense and puffery. If Igbos are so much more hardworking, why is the IGR in the SE so insanely low, and why do so many of you need to come all the way to "lazy" Yorubaland to find opportunities in the first place?

Let's get real: the reason why the immigration is overwhelmingly from SE to SW rather than the other way round is the same reason why Yorubas outnumber Igbos both in the UK and in the USA: people go to find better opportunities where they can, and both Igbos and Yorubas understand quite well that your region has nothing worthwhile to offer economically to anyone, not even to its own natives. That is the real reason why there are probably more Yorubas in Canada and even Australia than can be found in the 5 SE states put together, not any imaginary Yoruba "laziness" that soothes your inferiority complex.

You have a very poor comprehension skill as I stated earlier.

Lagos monopolized seaport and aviation because of the way Nigeria is structured.
What do you think will happen to eastern ports once restructuring takes place?
When I look at your states I pity lots of you bc your Lagos will pay heavily for gas to power their gas plants.
Southwest will suffer once Nigeria divides bc the population that drives Lagos economy will be reduced drastically in 15 years of restructuring.

Have you ever imagined imo/Abia/anambra states revenue on gas alone? It will shock all of you. Nobody talks about oil anymore but Gas and we have that in abundance.
You should be ashamed of yourself comparing your region with region that was destroyed during war. We have done well for ourselves and very proud of this great achievement with zero support from FG.
None of your city is close to onitsha/owerri or enugu and here you are, disgracing your region.

If the war took place in west, it would have been disastrous. We just recovered and ready to compete with other regions as you can see. We are growing as seen in Ebonyi state and will grow more. It will shock you people what east will become in the next twenty years .

Thank God you can't rig an election in the east anymore as shown in anambra. We will elect leaders that will drive our economy with passion.

Soludo will deliver .

We are out for the best and development. You people will keep leaving on false statistics while we grow silently. It will shock all of you.
bro u understand nothing about vat and development.... These vat figures proved that oyo state it's more develop than all south east states...vat collections is by fg ....and it's same everywhere... U can not give what u don't have... Let me elaborate it more... Vat its automatically collected from every purchase activities...e.g building construction, road construction, consumption goods , bank transaction...
It is a value added tax... The more u buy , the more money generated... Every transaction activities that's involved money added value to tax... Which means Oyo state it's more develop than other states with less activities of business...
Federal inland revenue it s in charge of vat collation....and it's same everywhere.. before it was 7.0 but now I heard it is 12.0. . Import and export tax are excluded....

nothing concern seaport with the inland vat... Everything generated from sea port goes to the fg... Import and export revenue / vat its not going to Lagos... But fg. Port it's a border control by fg...

As I stated earlier, if easterners collect tax the way is collected in south west states, there is no way we won't have a higher VAT when compared with what is collected presently.
That's the argument and not how much is collected.
Just know that easterners don't pay VAT at the point of purchase/consumption.

The same tax collection system in Lagos is applied in osun state and yet, they have a very poor VAT.

Why are they not collecting?

Is that not incompetence?

Yet, they are among the people shouting the highest that the North do not pay tax.

For your information, the LCT you saw on your bill in Lagos is Lagos Consumption Tax. Not Local Tax.

It's a 5% Tax levied on Hotels and Restaurants by Lagos State Govt. This a unique way of generating income for the government for them to be able to do more for the people.

Any government not able to raise funds for its activities is incompetent.

Nobody actually wants to pay tax. It is govt that is dragging them by the balls.

Lagos shouldn't be counted as south west economically and in Vat analyses.

All Niger Delta companies have their headquarters in Lagos. This can only happen in a worthless country like Nigeria.

Thanks to the clever but militating manoeuvring of the Yoruba think tank group shortly after the civil war, Lagos becomes the only functional sea port in Nigeria to the exclusion of Rivers, Calabar and Warri.

Lagos shouldn't boast, has nothing to boast and should share her VAT with the south-south states she's robbing through legislative criminality.

There's nothing like legislative action in the location of private businesses HQ.

You can locate your Head Office wherever you want in the country.

Shut up, you are the dundie united. VAT is supported by law and it has just been increased to 12%. Bingo! The same rate is used all over Nigeria by FG in accordance with law. Which one is if SE collects like Lagos. Lol. You boys are illiterates. I said it that you are all political e-thugs. grin

Your eyes go clear by the time Rivers, Lagos and Oyo start taking their VATs and solely belong to them. Then, you will understand the amount generated in these states. Sebi na you get oil and dey feed the whole Nigeria....we go know what's up then.

You all better up your game, know what is going on by educating yourselves so that you wont be used as mere political e-thugs. The agbero in Lagos are better than all of you here. At least the agbero still understand the laws that support what they do, and they also always say it that the laws needs to be amended before they can leave street. But una you wey dey form say you sabi all, you be bingos. Dundie United with empty brains.

VAT is 7.5%, stop misinforming the public.

You need to go back to basics.

I gave you an instance of what I paid in a hotel I lodged in Lagos.
The VAT is still 7.5% but south west states collect 5%LCT.
You won't understand bc you have refused to travel to other regions to see that your south west states are very very poor excluding Lagos in terms of infrastructure and what have you.
Ebonyi is doing better than Ondo and Ekiti but you won't know bc you have refused to tour Nigeria.
You people should keep collecting the VAT why we all share it.
Let's VAT autonomy starts and it will surprise you what eastern states will collect.
The refinery, ENOH gas, and hotels in owerri will do the magic in imo state.
Those in telecommunication sector, banking , transportation and betting companies will tell you where the economic activity takes place.
Look at southwest the only viable airport is Lagos, same applies to north central Abuja, same applies to north west Kano, same applies to south south rivers but look at the east , Enugu and owerri are doing well , same applies to anambra and Ebonyi once they start operation.
We are doing well above other regions irrespective of what you people think.

For the last time, we don't pay tax like other regions. Let's the VAt autonomy starts and we all will be here to witness how all your states in southwest will start borrowing money up and down to pay salaries.

The only states that will survive the heat will be all eastern states, rivers, akwaibom, delta,Edo, Oyo, ogun, ondo, Lagos, kogi, plateau, kaduna, Lagos. Others will struggle or fail but believe me, osun and Ekiti will fail bc they won't meet up with salary obligation.

Shalom

Your governors are waiting for VAT autonomy to start before collecting? What a moronic idea.

Even if VAT autonomy starts, they still can't take 100%, they have to send the FG's share to it. Ignorance is just too much in this country.

By the way, LCT is Lagos Consumption Tax and its 5%.

Igbos are the major tribe that occupy most decent rented homes in Lagos, there by feeding the afonja landlords
Ogun state government have been begging Igbo's to come invest in their state.....
The Igbo markets n businesses in Lagos are majorly responsible for the high vat in Lagos, apart from foreign investors of course....

You are right. There is additional which makes it 12%. May not be VAT going to FG but it's kind of another value added esp for some states. Technically, it is vat but not VAT. I cant really break them down, it appears under tax esp in restaurants. So, relax, Mr. Correction officer.
