In the past, you could monitor topics posted by the people you're following by simply viewing your Followed Topics, but there was no way to efficiently monitor their posts. Today, we've added a "Following" page to Nairaland to make it easier to track the posts made by people you're following. Please check it out as soon as you can and let me know about any issues you may have with it.

(If you don't find the page compelling, you should consider un-following people whose interests are not similar to yours, regardless of how cute they might be. They will still be able to send you messages using the new protocol, if they want to.)

We have also altered our Updated Topic Notification feature to make it less annoying. The new settings are extremely conservative.

It's amazing how this new nairaland affords you the opportunity to do and undo. I see this website going very far in the future with new innovations coming up. We're still waiting for nairaland mail, news, directory etc.

While I am happy at these changes, there is something I am seeing these last few weeks that needs to be addressed. Most time now when I try to post a comment, I am old that the servers are overwhelmed and so, I should wait a few minutes.
I wait a few minutes and it is still the same thing. Please do something about it cos it is really not nice at all.
And can we please have a mod for the romance section please? It is needed. On Sunday, some dude just came online and started insulting a female member which was in no way nice. I tried reporting to the moderators but it seemed they were off but if there was one for the romance section, it might get a wee bit better

i was banned recently because i was trying to explain the advantages of precast concrete and had to use the word "erektion"(wrongly spelt to avoid another ban). i.e precast concrete has fast 'erektion' time. I guess we aren't kids and words that have dual meanings like this should be allowed to be used freely.Replacing such words with another word which doesn't convey the intended meaning does no good

Google's content rules are very strict and we have to ban those words in order not to violate them. It's not a choice that I personally made. In this case, though, you could have used any of the following synonyms of the word in question:
architecture, arrangement, assembly, build, cast, composition, conception, constitution, contour, cut, development, disposition, edifice, elevation, erecting, erection , fabric, fabricating, fabrication, figuration, figure, form, format, formation, foundation, improvisation, invention, makeup, making, manufacture, mold, origination, outline, plan, planning, prefab, prefabrication, putting up, raising, rearing, roadwork, shape, structure, system, systematization, turn, type (from thesaurus.com)

Well i understand you but "erektion" is a common construction term and no one would expect that would lead to a ban if used in the construction context.Anyway no problems...

lol same thing happened to me just yesterday. Baned for attempting to offer help. But i latter found out that it was just an inaccurate measure that is being taken to keep the forum clean. Check this thread and know why you got banned==> www.nairaland.com/953073/what-wrong-nairaland.com ... Just thank God it was'nt a parmanent ban. To comment now sef don de fear me

Besides this notification thing in our email should be a thing of choice cos its filling up my yahoo mail which i dnt think i need a reminder to visit NL.

Bros, can we still have the filter that ONLY shows the forums we have posted in that have changed?
Currently we are forced to see ALL the topics we have ever posted in, but with a hard-to-see logo by the side.
We still need the "updated topics only" filter.

to change your NL Profile email,

1. go to Edit Profile

2. click Change Email

3. input your NL password, then the new email twice. Click Update

4. check your new email and click the confirmation url
